What material do you recommend to use to make your own cargo mat? I remember seeing some people replace the carpet material on the lower tailgate as well as the cargo area but cannot seem to find those threads now.

I was thinking to get some kind of rubbery/vinyl material so it's water proof as well.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure how you use the truck, but I've used horse stall mats in the past. They're pretty cheap at tractor supply and cut to fit.

Bed rug I believe is the product name you’ Looking for.

I was recommended a $30 trimmable cargo mat off amazon by another mud member. Fits the 100 well without really trimming anything

Three popular options are:

Aluminum Sheet
Rubber or vinyl flooring mats
HDPE (cutting board material) or sometimes called Starboard in the marine world.

Moving blanket, cheap at Harbor Freight.
Carpet remnant from a flooring store, also cheap.
