Its the light between the orange parking lights and the high/low beams, that stays on whenever the engine is on. I know them as daytime running lights on every other vehicle, but they don't seem to be listed on the land cruiser page on sylvania's bulb list.
Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but aren't the high beams the bulbs located directly below the low beams? The lights I'm talking about are directly inboard of the parking lights. Maybe I'll MS paint up a picture or something.
They are just additional parking lights, and come on in tandem with the amber corner lights whenever you have the parking lights or headlights switched on. The DRLs, as mentioned, are the high beam bulbs with a lower voltage signal sent through them so they arent at full power during the day.
I replaced mine with amber 168s from VLEDs.com because I was worried about matching the exact shade of my HIDs. Amber matches the corner lights and looks less busy up front IMO, but plenty have gone the white LED route.
(the amber actually matches much better in person...led vs incandescent looks off because of the camera)
That's not a bad idea either. My cones have yellowed too. Pretty nasty looking. I wonder how bad it would look putting white LEDs inside nasty yellow cones.
Mine aren't terrible but they have yellowed some, too. I wasn't worried about it since I was running amber, but a decent bright white LED should punch right through it without picking up any tint from the lens.
