What is this item and where should this wire be attached?

This is probably a newbie thing to ask and I have looked in my service manual and have used the search function. Recently found another previous owner surprise. The black (I assume ground wire?) coming out of this component is not attached to anything. Wondering where I need to put it?

The circled item is your ignition coil. That ground wire likely is connected to either the inner fender or the large lift hook poking above the valve cover.

I believe the ground wire attaches to the intake manifold on the bolt to the right of the dipstick on the very edge of the photo.
