what is the A/C idle solenoid..also any other a/c stuff i should know

im getting ready to fix the a/c in my 60. I bought a new dryer and a used a/c pump off a wrecked low mileage 60. I just desmogged my truck, and put all smog/vac line stuff in a box. I recently came across a write up mentioning the AC idle solenoid. I assume I removed it when i did the desmog. Before I start on my a/c project I would like to get all the inexpensive parts on hand so I don't go back and forth with it.
 
It is a diaphragm mounted on the front of the carb that turns up the idle when you turn on the AC. There is a solenoid mounted on the driver side fender which gets vacuum from the intake manifold right next to where the brake booster gets its vacuum. The solenoid opens the valve when you turn on the ac and sends vacuum to the diagram that turns up the idle which is adjusted with a small screw on the linkage on the carb to raise or lower the idle.

do you know if there is any way to run that with my weber?

I am pretty certain there is not a diaphragm like the stock one on a weber. Maybe someone that has a weber can tell you what they did. I am guessing they just set the idle higher than normal.
 
Can someone tell me why this (idle up) is needed to run the A/C?

I believe it's to get the AC compressor running at the right RPM for maximum cooling.

Anyone have a picture or the part number of the AC solenoid?
 
The compressor works (cools) better at 900-1000 rpms (the idle up setting) than at the 600 rpm regular idle setting.
