Hello! Yes, I did do some research but I'm hoping you guys could give me a guesstimate of what you think I should private party it for.

I have a 2006 Classic Silver LX470 with around 83,500 miles on the odometer. I'm the 3rd owner with no accidents and it's been garaged most of it's life. I would be conservative and rate it around a 7/10 in appearance (very conservative!) and was dealer maintained for most of it's life. Since I've owned it, I've done most of the work and changed all the fluids last year along with the timing belt. Still haven't done the water pump yet.

I had big plans for this vehicle and added some tasteful parts already. It's got Slee 1.25" spacers all around, with their diff drop, AHC override switch and battery tray as well as a Diehard Platinum 31M. Various other things is a USA Spec BT35 bluetooth module, Viper 5904 alarm with remote start and Weathertech floor mats.

It's lived most of its life in the northeast but the under body isn't terrible. I've taken care of what little surface rust it had with a grinder last year anyway.

I wish I could keep it, but if plans don't change, I need to get rid of it before the end of the month. What do you guys think I should post it for?

The market is very regional, but my guesstimate would be to list ~$25,000 and it sells for ~$24,000. Would expect a dealer to price it ~$28k.

When you get it sold, be sure to tell us who was the closest. :)

I think that $24k-$25k is a little on the low side, especially considering the mileage. I bet a dealer around here would be asking $30k so if I were you I would be closer to the $26K-$27.5K mark. I think they are in pretty high demand right now (that will only grow as winter gets closer) and as someone who keeps an eye on what's out there, I haven't seen too many 06'-07's around, let alone a low mileage one in (assuming you honesty here) decent overall shape.

If you do decide to sell, definitely keep us posted!

Just went through exercise with my insurance company after being rear-ended. 120k on truck, body shop rate it excellent and insurance valued it at $27k+.

2007 LX470 with TJM bumper, Slee sliders, drawers and 5000 miles on new tires.

I think the above numbers sound about right. Should be easy sale at $24k with those miles. Figure dealer will be $2k over private party sale. Most folks will look at KBB. The extras won't make much difference. Mileage is biggest benefit.

Awesome, thanks for the figures guys. I'll take some pics tomorrow after a car wash and post it up for sale and see what I get. Tempted to bring it by CarMax/Lexus to see their quotes too although I may not like what I see. Haha!

If you post here on MUD, you'll definitely want to post the undercarriage pics. I'd like to know what your process was to remove the surface rust and protect the undercarriage? I live in the Salt Belt so I need to get under my rig soon to do some pre-winter work. I used Fluid Film last year, but it doesn't seem to last that long.

Fortunately, my LC lived most of it's life in CA so the underside is not nearly as bad as trucks that spent their entire life in New England.

I'll give another price point since I basically have the same vehicle you do and I put it up for sale late last year.

Basics 06' Lx470/89xxx miles/2nd owner/Full maintenance records since new/ initially timing belt not done but was completed while still for sale/Some cosmetic damage to running boards

While my asking price was a bit high it was inline with what was for sale around me and I also stated obo. For the MUD crowd (especially those not on/from the east coast) the surface rust was a big deal. I agree without actually inspection of a vehicle it's hard to tell how bad the rust actually is. In my case I hit with a grinder and POR15 it, everything was on the surface and cleaned up really well.

Build Thread here with details - frogers Build - 2006 LX470

Bottom Line:
Initial Asking Price: $27500
Final Asking Price: $26750 (with TB/WP)
I would have taken: $26k
I was offered: $25k

Also I had the most interest via Craigslist (even after you weed out lowballers/scammers) and ebay

The car was in Boston and like I said, mostly garaged. After I took car of most of the rust, I cleaned it down every week with a power house to wash off the salt. It seemed to stay pretty good that way.

I had the vehicle washed today and took some pics. Sorry for not having as many pics as frogers, but it was over 100 degrees today and I was just too tired to take more. Let me know what you guys think before I post up a for sale.

Things I'll add to the for sale post is I forgot to mention it's got SPC upper arms in the front, current nav disc bought from Lexus, and a CNA warranty on the vehicle for a little under 3 more years. I had them have the front axles replaced because they were slightly leaking. Very good warranty company that I've had a lot of success with on various cars.

^ agreed.

With that color combo and as clean an undercarriage as it has, I'm going to say the higher end of what I recommended earlier at $27k, perhaps even $28k if you are comfortable waiting for the right buyer to come along.

I think you'll get a lot of interest on ebay and autotrader, but you have to be sure to include pictures of the underside in the listings as they will put many prospective buyers' minds at ease.

You have a very clean truck there and people who know what they are looking for will pay up for that. I'm going to ask around and see if anybody I know has any interest.

Thank you guys very much! I posted a Craigslist and will post a for sale on here later on today when I have the chance. I'd also be selling the vehicle WITH the warranty to sweeten the deal. Thanks again guys for all your help.
