Just bought this flatbed today and towed it 30 miles, was definitely over what I'm comfortable with but we made it and the 3bt was outstanding

My CanAm 800 on my trailer I’ve had since ‘80! The 12HT is not a towing motor, at least on northern BC 10% grades it’s 3rd gear and slow. Does OK on the flat.

In July I pulled a 4x8 uhaul trailer, south on the 5 from Bellingham, WA to Oakland, CA. Probably 3,000lbs or so of stuff between the back of the cruiser and the trailer. Stock 2F drivetrain, 33s, Top speed 62-63 on the straightaways, 30mph going up the passes in southern Oregon and Shasta pass in California. I just stayed in line with the trucks going up, hazards on, and took it slow.

I don’t dare tow anything yet, my truck alone weighs 6500-7000 fully loaded.
Once the 4.88s are in, I hope to be able to tow a small trailer.
Anyone out there with a 2f with 4.88 and towing anything.

Hi, I tow all the time. 31s with stock gearing. Mike

Pic of your truck that does most of the towing and what does the Cruiser weigh on average when you tow? What’s on or in the trailer (weight) not contents?

I have pulled 5 x 12 flatbed loaded with yard of mulch, was the heaviest, and it did fine. I have medium OME springs in rear so with trailier and light load 800-1000lbs plus trailer weight its rides smooth and cruise at 60 even with A/C running. This is with stock motor, 4 speed, 31in tires and 3.73 gears. Do have to downshift on hills out of 4th with load, but you do not drive a 60 or any other tow vehicle like a Vette when you have a trailer attached.

Another observation..which is can go faster, as in MPH the jet ski or the cruiser...?

Ha... that jet ski is supercharged. It’s a rocket. Much faster than the 60. Kind of funny now to realize the contrast between the two beasts.

TBI 350 on 33s, towing just shy of 1800lbs with trailer and cart, no issues and comfortable tow.
