Restored several more steering wheels, I have finally found a good process that makes sure I don’t miss any small cracks.

Work continues on my top restoration. I have tried many different rust treatments, most of them require water to rinse them off. I never like putting water or rust. So, the best I have found that does not require a post rinse is CorroSeal. I leaves a paintable black surface and doesn't require multiple coats to kill the rust like the Rust Oleum junk I just threw out.

This was slated last week to possibly hit more of the mid Atlantic and northeast…whew… I love snow but man I’m glad it stayed south
EDIT: the clock is 12: hours behind

And my fj40 started instantly with the Sniper….again. A new record at 1.8*

Installed my o2 sensor for the sniper. It’s been a slow process due to the cold weather and the fact that my wife doesn’t want me to work on the cruiser in the garage at any given point.
So I take advantage when she’s gone which is very rare she leaves the house.

I can send you an estimate that you can show her…..

LOL! Yeah that would really go well especially considering she doesn’t care for the thing. Her uncle offered me $25K for it and my wife was making plans with the money already.
I’m sure that there’s someone with some fake D papers you could conveniently leave out.

Time for an upgrade

Feel like a poser with any of the painting photobombs because it’s not what ‘I’ did this week. Granted two years of my bodywork got me here and I’m restoring other bits while they are doing their thing. Just finished restoring the flywheel access cover and re-installing all the factory cushions on that part.

Various stages of primer, glass/epoxy filler, and high build primer. Will finish the underside and firewall of the tub then bring the chassis back in for another fitment before painting the interior and exterior. That way we can get all the doors aligned and make sure everything is seam sealed as it should be.

Extraordinary amount of sanding to get everything flat and smooth.

Ive heard good things about rust kutter.

@fj40fillet, Once you treat the rust what's the next step? Isn't the surface pretty rough for any type of coat
