What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Took off the top today, cleaned it up a bit, added back in the fold down/fold forward rear seat and put the windshield down, the weather is just to nice to be "boxed" in right now, I most likely leave the top off for the rest of the spring/summer

Think I was a bit premature in taking the top off. Weird winter.

That's a beauty, who cares that you had a little fluff in the hood. Wait till next week!

Installed carpet kit (Cruiser Solutions) repainted gas tank, Seat/Amp Rack, rear seat for the kids and Sat Radio (for me) ... ;)

How hard was that to install and how easy to remove if wet? Seems like it could be a moisture trap but I do like it!

Got the tub on for mock up

Positioned the tub on the frame to check all the other stuff we did. So far so good... San Mig time

Once you figure out how all the pieces go, its actually fairly simple. Ya, you could easily take it out if you needed to. My 40 is pretty much built to drive around in the nice weather with the top off so no concern about getting wet and trapping moisture.

Cheers

Pre - Tested my Long Jump seats with two B Hoop Roll Bars

Looks like it will work! Love the look! There will be a support bar that spans the two B hoops as well.

Cut off the arm rest to make them fit. Will be adding this mod to my 69 resto...

Well, we got a lot done this week:

First I made a sun shade top for when we are running the FJ40 with the hard and soft top off, so we can have the windscreen down and still have some prtection against direct sun here in Texas. It turned out very nice. I used some Mil Spec. mesh, edged with backpack weight 1" webbing and sdecured with velcro strapes. It fits tight and works great. It does not flap, and is just a s quite as running with the tops off altogether.

I also made momma a roof rack for her FJ60. We built it a bit larger than the standard sizes as this is for us to camp in with our tent. It's total height is 8" and we are using the mounting feet from Diamond Rax. It's out of 1"x1"X.06" sqaure tubing with a 1/8" aluminum floor, which turns out to be a great barrier against the sun, the inside of the truck stays cool with the windows down even in last weekends high 80's tempature.

We also bought a carpet kit from SOR and redid the interior of our FJ60. The carpet looks great and covers up all the Dynamat we installed. We left out the headliner for convinence issues but we purchased complete carpet with tailgate, wheel well covers, new seat cushion foam and vinyl seat covers, new door panels to match the interiorbrown which we got from Proffitts Cruisers and door hardwear. The FJ60 also has a new modern sheet of glass for the windshield.
Oh yeah, we also did a rattle can two tone paint job on the FJ60... the previous paint was peeling and flaking
