What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

With the dubious wiring/electrical and the condition of the engine... I have decided to go for the 'to-the-frame' rebuild.

I am not a grease monkey and I have to say it's going to scare the hell out of me.

I tried to get the clutch and the breaks to function. Dubious results on the breaks, the clutch was just dead. Due to the difficulty getting to get to the clutch to bleed the line cemented my to-the-frame resolve.

The engine is siezed and I can't get it into neutral...

That is what I did today... :deadhorse:

That is what I did today.

You can do it! Just remember to have fun and enjoy the build amongst the frustration. :D

I like your merc in the garage. Pics?

The stuff works. Now I need to find a good wax/polish to put over the top.

You know... its funny. I've owned my 230sl for 13 years now, and I still don't have a single picture of it.

You may be able to shift the transfercase into neutral.

Found what blew my fuse repeatedly, darn hot wires touching my tranny, fixed that and all that were going to follow. Not sure what to do this weekend though before I head back to University......

Really would like to off-road some this weekend, but need a buddy that's in the Los Angeles Area. PM me and we'll see what we can do.

Top off for this dry spell. Probably won't bother putting it back on. I'll just get a bikini top made up I think.

That is good looking! That may be one of my favorite models.

Installed carpet kit (Cruiser Solutions) repainted gas tank, Seat/Amp Rack, rear seat for the kids and Sat Radio (for me) ...

I'd send you a PM, but you don't allow them. I like what you did with the seat frame using the flat stock pieces. I have the same one. What's the width and thickness of the metal you used? Are you happy with what you did? I could see not using thick enough metal and getting a bounce from them. TIA.
