Had the radiator tank removed and cleaned out, blasted and painted the shroud and mount, hopefully there's no green puddle in the carport tomorrow....
Test drive was good, sitting at 90 degrees C with the heater off, was 100 with heater on before...

It is flipping 80+ degrees in Iowa in March. The crazy weather has convinced me to pull my hard top off and am getting ready to hang it in the garage for the summer. I propably just cursed us to a major snow storm.

I just pulled mine off this week, and went topless to the Roundup at Katemcy Rocks. Figured that would bring rain to the event for sure, but it was dry and warm all the time I was there.

I used all 4 chains on my cruiser for the first time. With the locker in the back and the torque of the 3B it feels more like a tank than a cruiser! It was unstoppable on icy and snowy hill climbs!

I'm returning my 72 TLC to the stock look for the upcoming Spring Car Show here in Jacksonville FL. Off came the winch and bull bar, on went the stock bumper and cream colored bezel. Final touch: stock wheels and hubcaps, hopefully next week.

i think the bezel should be more of a white.. like a slight off white - to match the hardtop

nice cruiser btw

I just got mine home from storing it at my brother in laws all winter. I completely forgot that when I rushed it over there last minute I hadn't fixed the brakes yet. I've got a leak somewhere and the rear reservoir on the master was dry. So hardly any brakes for the ride home. Something to investigate more tomorrow after I wash all the dust off it. It's supposed to be 75 here tomorrow so it would be nice to have brakes and go for a cruise with the top off.

Made space in the shed

Needed to get her out the Queensland rain:frown:, so got stuck into the shed:clap:

Put the Tacoma bumper on my truck. The Tacoma is in my window of the '40 It will fit the 4 Runner also. It is just resting on my front bumper area but it does look good.

I never would've guessed...cool. What year Tacoma is it for?

Finished the return to SOA :)

Faaaaawwwk yeah!!!
Nothing hotter than a SOA cruiser!!!

Looks great!

  • New cap and rotor
  • Replaced the vacuum advancer diaphrams (still need one if you have an extra, big-cap dizzy)
  • Set the timing
  • Adjusted the carb and straightened out a linkage rod that was bent.
  • New dummy vacuum circuit that blocks off four unused vacuum terminals from the VCV retard port, to the BVSV and finally the secondary advance circuit at the dizzy. It looks like it belongs for the smog man, but does nothing. I think one blocked off port would probably slide by, but four looked wrong.
  • 2" tach and vacuum gauge behind the radio block-off plate to help with the tune-up.
  • Put a loom on the vacuum lines, looks kind of original if you don't know what you're looking for.
  • Wired up the apron lights I added when I changed to early metal script Land Cruiser emblems.
