Put new gaskets and seals in the fuel pump and sending unit. Also continued replacing screws that PO installed with stainless steel. Man those stainless steel bolts, washers, and nylon nuts look great!!!

Worked on fixing a broken hood hinge, welded that as well as installed the correct windshield platforms for the hood latches. PO sure made that one fun  .
Also worked on alignment with the passenger door, it was way off. Got to use the new Vessel impact driver, wish I had that 20 yrs ago -

The bottom screw was nearly completely ruined from other's attempts with the wrong tool -

It took quite a bit of beating, but the Vessel won the day and got it out . I put up a post about Vessel's screwdriver's and impact driver in Tools and Fabrication , MUD members get a 10% coupon code at checkout ....

If anyone hasn't tried it , I'd recommend Freeze Off from CRC for those stubborn rusted bolts , seems to work quite well.

cut out rusty inner fender wells, and a couple of 4"x4" spots under the front doors, cut up some sheet metal and angle to replace all that with.
got rid of the rust on the bottom of the stock gas tank (seems like it sits in it's own perfect little rust bowl, eh?), and also scored a secondary tank to go with the filler already mounted on the body. period correct, i believe :)
i also found a ton of surface rust inside of the wheel wells, but nothing that about a half hour and a wire wheel can't handle
got a chance to check up on the seats, at the upholstery man's shop, fully stripped, ready for foam
oh, and shoveled the rest of the ice out from around the poor girl

Reinstalled my quadrajet on the sbc400. Had an inlet leak. Got it fixed and had carb professionally adjusted. She runs like a scalded dog now! Just recently ditched my electric fuel pump for a mechanical. All new fuel lines, filter, etc plus new tank last year. Fuel delivery should be as good as it gets now. Also refurbishing a hardtop to replace my frankentop.

Finally got engine in frame and axles connected for mock up

Got engine, tranny, transfer case, drive shafts etc hooked up for mock-up with body...

Returning to stock configuration

I'm returning my 72 TLC to the stock look for the upcoming Spring Car Show here in Jacksonville FL. Off came the winch and bull bar, on went the stock bumper and cream colored bezel. Final touch: stock wheels and hubcaps, hopefully next week.

Sharp carpet kit. Any troubles with the install?

Well, fitting wasn't 'perfect', but with some small modifications I made it work well. Couple of things, due to the custom seat frame I would have asked that they do not cut out all the sections for the seat mount locations that now have nothing there, instructions would have been VERY helpful, but quality is pretty decent. Also, I wanted to have the gas tank showing, so I used the material around the tank to cover the areas that would not have otherwise been covered. All in all, came out better than I was expecting

Removed Paki top to have repairs done. Replacing both rear zippers and having some lose stitching re-sewn. Mentioned to the older gentleman that no one was making tops and I could see the wheels turning. He said his MOS in the Army was making tops for jeeps and duece and a half trucks. :)

Installed new bikini top from TPI4x4.com.... Looks darn good. Also checked the vacuum and got 16 on the gage. But she still runs like crap. I will have to look at it some more tomorrow.
