Installed a new to me fuel tank that does not leak! No more

fumes. Fired it up and drove it around for the first time since tackling the floor.

Very nice looking grill! Chrome? What year?
Thank you. It is a 1964. I cleaned a lot of rust off of the grill when I got it so not sure if it is chrome?

Very nice rear view mirror! Makes me want to replace mine.
Toyota still has them. Part: 87810-60050

Not the original design for my year, but much better than whatever was in mine.

Online Toyota stores are having 25% off right now and free shipping on orders over $75.

Watching the Masters and installing new rubber seals on all the windows. Great day!View attachment 3882970
My rear ambulance door on the right has had the window out for 8 months already…. Is that seal a 2 person job? Just for my own sanity…

You'll be fine solo. Work it all around to the final corner then you have to stretch it up to the corner and seat it then done. 1 banana job.

Maybe add .5 bananas. My forearms are a little sore from the stretching, but I did all windows 😎

Regarding the ambulance door glass: I have 4 cans of spray glass cleaner (Sam’s Club), 15’ of paracord, 4 different nylon spoons, 2 arthritic hands, zero people to offer a hand and a great fear of the glass falling to the floor below as I feebly try to set it in place on the door. I have probably seen a dozen YouTube videos on how to

This is a mind numbing experience. I have zero hesitation in doing things that I have no previous experiences in and so many of those unknowns were some of my greatest achievements. Greatest disappointments in life will be this window and never having another threesome! Never say never 😂

I helped a glazer friend a few decades ago to cut and install my w/s once. I would mix up dish soap with water using more than normal soap instead of using window cleaner. Glass cleaner contains alcohol which evaporates quickly. I use soapy water often when installing tires and such. Last resort would be finding a glazer to install the window. I just had a windshield cut and installed by a local guy and was very pleased with the work and cost.

I’m working on refreshing the braking system and just completed replacing the brake booster, master cylinder, brake warning light switches, soft brake lines and bled the system. While I was replacing the brake lines I also greased the chassis and steering. A few pictures i got along the way included the old master cylinder and how it was leaking. The booster and trail of brake fluid from master along with the original brake lines with date codes of 3/77 the original manufacture date for my 40. The finished product and a picture of one of the brake lines for reference.

Had a buddy help me tow my rig to get some much needed work+guidance in the big city. Ongoing project post motor rebuild, was nervous to drive the 155 miles to Boise with how it was running.

Gotta post our success and our failures, and more often than not for us :banana::banana: owners progress comes from “failing forward”. First time getting paid help on her in 2 years.

**Turns out she has an intake leak (I didn’t realize how common they were.. ) which, because I broke in the engine with this leak, may have also caused the low compression it’s getting… hes getting readings in the 130s and 140s.

Glad to have some pro help with the rig (fellow cruiser head) and still gearing up to road trip her in a couple weeks to cali from Idaho (will limp it with the leak- said pro said I could do it likely..) **

Still fighting!
(Will the tail wag the dog or the dog wag the tail?)

It seems that City Racer is one of the treasures you've got in the States. Wish we could have in Europe too!

I agree…whenever I can’t find an oem Toyota part or it’s astronomically expensive I will use City Racer for a quality alternative.
