What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week? (66 Viewers)

I fixed my horn. There was a buildup of crud on the contact ring and the contact button was completely worn away. I made a new one from a little brass wood screw. Hopefully will last another 51 years. I also made a steering wheel puller. I was tired of borrowing one from Auto Zone.

I don't know if this actually qualifies as something done "to" my cruiser, but I made a new car window sticker for the FJ40. Big assist goes to kayaker for providing a clear photo of an old invoice from the same Toyota dealer within a few months of my FJ40's original purchase by the prior owner.

The rest is history... errr Photoshop. About 90% accurate with fonts, but there's not a good substitute for the random vertical placement and worn letters of a high speed band printer. I guessed at the price of a radio in 1971, and don't know if my MODEL NO. is 60812 like his or something else. Wife considered it a waste of time but it's probably good enough for the Lake Butler 4th of July Car Show.

Dude. Love this. I’d buy one if you could pump these out for specific dealerships/vehicles/options. I spend stupid money on this truck so why not?

I'm not sure when Toyota started using these blue ones, but at some point in 1974 they changed to a different style with a red TOYOTA logo at the top and different layout. So if yours is before that point, this sticker might apply to you.

If you can edit an Adobe Acrobat file or have Adobe Photoshop Elements (the cheap version) you can download the file from my website FJ40 Page and have at it. If you can't, download the Acrobat file & write in your FJ's specifics and send it to me along with an email with the same info (for my copy & paste convenience).

That’s awesome I love the final outcome 👍. My 40 came through the port of Jacksonville and made it to Punta Gorda, Florida where my grandparents bought it new in 1977.

My brother to,d me about someone who took all of the window sticker duplicates from the ford headquarters and was selling the one for you vehicle for something like $15.00. This had to be near 40 years ago. He’s a Mustang guy. I also have one for my ‘56 t-bird.

Finally did the drivers door with the SMG door pin set. Took me an hour. I just did not have the strength to lift the door as high as it needed to go for a clean alignment. As every owner of these door pins knows, the difference is remarkable

I’ll have to ask my brother. He’s one of those guys that looks at something and know if its correct or not for mustangs. He gets too detailed …but on the other hand, i have seen those Marti reports. Some of those mustangs start the bidding at $100,000.00 the first day. Within a week theyre sold for $250,000.00 or more…close to the value of my FJ40. ;)

I can properly scan mine from Linda if anybody wants one for a 78. It's not quite as good quality as this one, but is detailed as well.

Getting ready for Cruise Moab!

Transmission and transfer case drained and replaced. It is definitely migrating from tc TO the trans... Was overfilled and DIRTY in the trans, low but clean in the TC. I had done the TC last year as it was getting loud.
Very minimal crud on the magnet.
Used a gl4 90 weight.

Bought the branded sta lube hand pump for $12... it worked great.

Now i have to explore extending the oem breather tube on top of TC? And i just pm'ed someone who has nicely pre made "tc-trans breather tubes" for sale.
