Thank you!! These were shot on Portra 800
Yeah, you can see the 800 asa grain, lovely, reminds me of pics we have from family trips to Patagonia in the 70s or 80s, thanks for that.
No LC though, an old Peugeot towing a pop up trailer, talk about "overlanding preparedness", my dad put a couple used spare tires in the trunk and we went several thousand Kms in a 1.9L french sedan with a young family of 4 on unpaved roads for 25-30 days.. No cell phone then you know

Best memories for all of us, even today almost 50 years later.

BTW, what size Michelin Defenders you using? Got the stock size which are great for daily use as they retain an exact speedo to GPS ratio, and are easy (easy...haha) on fuel, but they do look small for the size of the LC, was considering a bit bigger for my next set.

Replaced my fog light bulbs with Diode Dynamic LED Yellow bulbs, easy install but they don't fit as tight as the standard bulbs.
Also replaced the seal behind the glove box to stop my passenger's feet getting dripped on.

That sounds like an epic family vacation! I always had a thing for Peugeot after watching lots of WRC Rally races lol.

The Defenders are a 275/65/18, so just a bit larger than OEM spec. Adds about 3mph to the dial, but do want to get it calibrated soon.

This is what I ordered off of Partsouq. I took brittle vacuum hoses and matched them at the parts store. I like oem but when it comes to some things, get what you can get. I studied the diagram and looked for oem for a few hours. Gave up and just got it done.

Yesterday I bought one! As a birthday present on the day of no less, and just like my other classics of course need a forums account to get up to speed and ask all the stupid questions! (Ask any C4 corvette owner about an optispark and watch their reaction - its always funny).

218k miles, but records back to new totaling over $40k in repairs over the last 25 years from one local AZ owner, serviced at a grand total of only 3 locations across its entire life. It feels like a brand new truck, and the first order of business is to make it look the part. My intent is to treat it like the odometer only reads 18k and try to get half a million out of it as my new daily.

Sounds like a great example. Congrats!

Welcome to the IH8MUD forum!!!

A good information starting place…

To find part numbers for your new Land Cruiser 100 series…

Enter your VIN number for the most accurate OEM parts database.
You don’t have to buy from them, but it will give you access to accurate parts drawings and part numbers for your vehicle.

Maybe put the year and model of your vehicle ( LC/ LX/ or the very rare 105 or JDM ) into your signature line… you’ll get more relevant replies to specific questions.

And, as always, this forum’s indigenous population likes to see what’s going on…
Photos, or it didn’t happen… 😉

After years of being annoyed by wind noise at highway speeds coming from the corner of the driver's side door - right above my left ear - and not being able to resolve it by adding some extra sealing to the door seal, I discovered that the window rail had slightly pulled away from the corner of the door frame. I theorized that it was allowing a small amount of air through the seal once the air speed was high enough to open a flow path.

I tested this theory by sealing it on both sides with literal duct tape and chewing gum. I am overjoyed to report that this has resolved the issue.

I'll get in there and seal it up for real once the weather stops sucking. In the meantime, I cannot begin to tell you how much of a relief it is to be rid of that noise 🤣
