Replaced the all steering rack bushings in situ and the front differential cover bushing (not shown) and one side diff bushing. Also replaced the transmission support bushing, though when I inspected the old support, there was not a noticeable difference in thickness compared to new.
The two round steering rack bushings were shot. The bottom lip was destroyed one one and very thin on the other. I was seeing significant play in the rack and wobble when driving at 25-45 mph.

Continuation of catching up with maintenance,
Had all 8 fuel injectors tested to various conditions, they passed, so really no reason to switch to the 12-hole injectors. Used mineral spirits so that itself cleaned the nozzles, fun to see them get equal volume at the end of each test and how they have the same atomization/spray pattern.
New driver side 4x Denso ignition plugs, new power steering reservoir. Extracted the old ps fluid and replaced it with new, all new associated ps hoses have been replaced as well. New oem orange top o-rings and insulators for the injectors, new F&R u-joints.
Assembled the intake manifold with all the accessories, new L&R orange gaskets, fuel rail and damper gaskets, fuel hose, injectors, etc.
Pulled down the F&R driveshafts -early symptom is vibration when it’s under load or heavy acceleration. Before installing the u-joints, I decided to clean it up.
Now assembled, I will bring it to a local DS specialist in a few days to put it on a high speed balancing machine just for additional peace of mind that there will be little to no vibration when I put it back in.
Replaced the fuel filter as well.

Well, I purchased my first 100 this week! When picking it up, it was quite filthy and had the cracking and delaminating fake wood veneer. I spend a hour or so today removing that veneer and cleaning up all the gunk. I gave it a good wash on Friday and did a test pass on paint correction (just because). Seems like the paint will clean up well.
I also took the granny steps off for more ground clearance.
There are a few pieces that will need to be addressed and a couple of those have been ordered. The person I bought it from put a cheap knock off turn signal on after the factory one cracked. The quality is horrendous so I purchased a OEM housing from Toyota. I also ordered a latch for the center console as the top latch is broken, unfortunately that one is coming from China so it may be a week or so.
Overall, very happy with this purchase! Traded my 5th gen 4Runner in so I would have no car note and a stack of cash. Win win.
I am a big fan of OEM+ so this build be restored to what it should be and very tasteful mods that will not greatly hinder performance in one area to gain in another.

Finally making some progress on my drawers, Version 2.0. Version 1.0 lasted 11 years, but was heavy as hell and awkward to remove and reinstall (3/4" ply for EVERYTHING 
). I'm still making a few tweaks, but hoping to have it mostly done this week. The panel with the fuse block and DC-DC charger is going to be moved forward, so the driver side drawer will be 36" long with a lower 36" slide for a stove.

Super slick. I don't see myself ever splashing out for Goose Gear or anything remotely close (I'd have a hard time spending that proportion of what I spent on the truck to start with on a drawer unit, is the main thing), but I feel like I could make some 80/20 stuff turn out pretty nice, and you've done that. Just going to do a single drawer on the driver side. How tall is your draw going to be?
Nice! Mine is 12" high using 10 series (1") extrusion, so 10" drawer depth. Old one was 13" high, which made opening the fridge lid a little tighter than I wanted when dealing with the wire baskets in there.

. I love that they're modular, and easy to customize and tweak in the future. Once I'm finished I'll post better pics and a list of the parts that I used.
Went to the suspension dark side with my second LX. Hours and hours in the South Alabama humidity with no luck getting the AHC to work. Land Cruiser suspension it is.
The other day I installed my new Dobinsons coils, and today I realized I forgot to install the little rubber insulator pad that goes on top… doh. In fact, I haven’t had that thing installed for almost 2 years now ever since I removed the coil spacers from my Ironman coils. Hopefully this helps reduce some noise.

Finished up the base wrap in some 500D cordura. 2 bolts in the rear and clamped to the cargo hooks up front.
Got a little further than I thought I was going to. Added the rails for my tie downs and found a spot for my compressor just need to run some wires for it. But I think this is good enough for V1.
Nice! Where did you get the L track? I've been browsing for a couple 36" lengths for mine.
I spent the weekend with my cooling system and timing belt. First up were the heater Ts. Pretty sure they were original as they crumbled when I tried pulling them from the hose. Second was the timing belt and water pump. The belt only had ~20k miles on it (9 years old), but knowing the previous owner loved cheap aftermarket parts, I decided not to risk it. Sure enough, found the water pump was weeping slowly. It finally solves the mystery of why my overflow tank level was slowly dropping for the last 3 years!

What spare tire carrier is that? Thinking about having a similar setup when I go for 35s later in the year but don’t have the $$ for a rear bumper yet.
What is your wheel and tire setup??
Loving the tan rhino liner, gonna need to do something similar in the near future as my paint is toast.
