I am working on my basket case 83 fj60. I dont know what is supposed to be in those threaded openings. Im guessing coolant sensors? It looks like the coolant temp sensors are located on the thermostat housing. Also does anyone know where that hose thats by the firewall go to?. I cant seem to find a in depth pic of that area anywhere cuz most engine pucs have the intake covering everything. TIA

Hey, hope this helps!
Sorry the picture requires zooming but the front hole on the block is for the factory temp, sensor. The hole behind is for the coolant pipe which as two connections, the top goes across to the heater shut off and the one coming out of the side goes to the third tube you have circled next to the firewall. I can take more tomorrow if needed to help clarify. Just ping here and let me know.

Cheers, James

#2 note : this is for a FJ60 2F only , a 40 or 55 late modle set-up would be very different here and not do the needed jobs the below needs to do ,,

#3 is a 2 separate stand alone parts topic , the metal union and the electrical coolant temperature sensor for the cluster meter gauge below :

Thanks. I already found the parts and had them ordered.

i will still post tech photos only of all the correct oem parts , if that ok with you of course ?

i was super impressed that you started out your tech. thread , requesting others input on the on-topic #1 #2 #3 as i ID them in the Glow Stick Green

i can't tell you , and anyone who happend here in the naxt day or two , ...

your approach starting point as the tread starter , and posting a pre- prepared image of your cylinder head in your engine bay , and making it clear , as in 100% clear , what parts correct oem parts you needed input on and where they go after that .....is a special example to share here in TECH with others , because , your taking the time here in the early morning to simply let me know :

perhaps your words in yellow ink explain better , why i bring up this unique topic here in the way i do ....

the
#2 is one of the most challenging needed parts topics on a entire 2F engine to find , and find in good pre-owned condition to say the least ,,

good work brother ! :) 🍻🍻
