Getting back to assembly of my 1975 FJ40 and can't remember what the heck goes in these two holes in the dash. It's the two holes just above the ash tray (photo attached). Any ideas
/ Also, I was sure that the other photo was of the dash map light that fits under the dash pad but for the life of me I can't figure out how it fits. This is what happens when you take a vacation from the build and have to learn everything over again.

Yup. The left one is a plastic plug and the right hole is for the optional passenger grab bar, otherwise plugged.

i have a clean original 75 40 in my garage. i will take a look and see what is here and get back to you.

The light goes under the dash, just above the vent lever on the heater (next to the gas pedal). You should have another light, without the triangular metal bracket, that goes in the dash pad and illuminates the switches.

Left one would have a plug or if you had a soft top it would have the soft top light switch.
