What exactly is needed for a basic v8 swap in an 82 fj60? at this point, I'm assuming to keep the existing trans.

Of the top of my head i can think of...

SBC motor, fully dressed
Adapter from the motor to trans
Clutch kit
Adapter motor mounts

What else?

Thanks,

E-

and theres another one for doing the V8 swap for the least $$ but cant put my finger on it at the moment

No reason to go SBC unless you already have one. There are many reasons folks moved on to LS units. The electrical "headaches" have plug-in solutions from many vendors now.
