Cold= 2 pumps- choke out all the way then halfway.
warm= turn the key

Okay, I've noticed that no one engages the clutch pedal when starting their rig. Hmmm, the owners manual says to "Shift the transmission into neutral and hold down the clutch pedal until the engine is started" Does anyone else do this? I don't recall any of my previously owned vehicles(most were manual) owner's manuals ever saying this. Any ideas on this?

Mine fires right up once I take off one of the air filter wingnuts and spray the carb with a blast of Gumout. Nothing like a toke off the ole Gumout can.

Have the kids push like crazy and then pop the clutch in 2nd gear it should start rite up.

Yes I do, not even thinking about it, and I assumed everyone else engages the clutch also. When I first got my 60 I didn't engage until my mechanic told me I should (pump,choke and engage) to get a better start, and it did help. Now with my rebuild it's just engage the clutch and turn the key as long as it's over 40 degrees any colder I'll do the habitual pump and choke.
