So my brakes are going out I'm sure. Before I tear into it, do they squeak really bad when they are going out? I'm sure this is an easy Question to answer, and I feel pretty dumb for having to ask, but oh well! Then the question is what pads and rotors if need them do you guys recommend?

The OEM pads have a wear indicator on them that scrapes on the rotor when the pads are too worn. Yup, it can squeal. I've always used OEM pads, rotors, and hardware. I did all 4 wheels last spring (with reman. calipers in the front) and the brakes are working really well.

On this note, what are you guys using to jack up your rigs? I have a high lift, but that thing is scary! Nothing else will reach my super awesome high truck!

I use my hi-lift as my main jack. However I would still prefer a large hydraulic jack. I have 6 years of "hi-liftage" and it still freaks me out every time.

A regular floor jack, or your bottle jack placed correctly? Then secured on jack stands.....

My rear pads have squeaked for a few years, still have plenty of material on them. Two friends 100s do the same thing. But yeah, if you get down to the wear sensor, it sounds like metal on metal, because that's what it is. It's a little tab that sits on the edge of the pad and when it finally comes in contact with the rotor it vibrates and makes a racket.
