I can tell you that it is simply the nicest Troopy I have ever seen. The former owner was meticulous, and he changed the oil every year- despite the fact that he seldom put very many Kms on it. This is a troopy which would need nothing at all- except toys. The frame is perfect, the body is perfect, the interior is nearly perfect, and the engine is perfect.

I hope that whoever buys it does not trash it, as it is far too nice to be abused. That is why David is selling it: it is simply too nice for him to use it camping, etc.

Cheers,

Josh

Nice clean Troopy, the best ist always the cheapest ;)
If the price is ok, I would buy it.
Clean and paint the underside, protect the seams and the inside of the doors and frame with grease ( important !!)

Hi Josh,
OLd Diesel engines needs more oil changes than petrol engines.
Toyota service manual :
Oil change all 5000km ( extreme conditions all 2500 km)

Seller is a member here.

I hope I get to see it before he sells it. I have repeatedly heard from people who have gotten to look it over (including CDan) just how immaculate it is.

If I had a suitcase full of cash, I'd probably snatch that one up tomorrow.

Too late Dan. Sold:frown: One day, when you make a time machine...out of a diesel Hilux with a Faux-lux Capacitor.... you can go back to any Toyota dealership in Australia in 1984 and see what this rig looked like. It was SO clean. I never saw a troopy brand new, but I would be willing to bet that this was what they looked/smelled like.

Cheers,

Josh

Looked like an awesome rig, I've been lurking, watching (many years now) for a stock HJ47 that is really clean have to get comfortable with the price I will have to pay.

My goal would be to only use it in the summer, the only abuse it would see is Vermont dirt roads. The salt and the winters here are too tough on vintage steel.

I really liked greenspans quote about the best being the cheapest it put it all in perspective to me.

If another HJ47 comes up, PM me. I'll eventually bite

you get what you pay for and in this economy it's not really worth importing an average rig (to resell). There are still people with money willing to buy the finest, and this was one of them.

You can always import one yourself, just have to be patient to find a decent one. I have one with a 350 chev, p/s, and a/c I'll probably be selling later this summer, but no more diesels right now.

Thanks -
I had an 79 FJ40 with a 350 and too much rust, things were falling off faster than I could put them back on.

A few years back I rode around in the western desert of Egypt in an HJ47 and knew I would eventually own one.

Every other rig in the place was an 47, I couldn't believe my eyes.
