I'm a woodworker/furniture designer. Just graduated from Maine College of Art :-) Anyone know of any good job openings? I'm going to be looking for another job around the end of the month, and any good leads could be rewared with some nice wooden cruiser parts...
 
Maybe check with the local contractors around Yale if you really want to move to CT. We are spending about 3-400 million a year on building renovations and most of the interiors of our buildings are wood panel and very intricate.
 
I landscape. My co is called Earthworm Landscaping. We are a small co for around these parts. I employ 2 full time and a part time guy in the season. We do all phases of landscaping, from excavation, install, masonery, and maint.

When ever I am not doing that I weld for money and beer Wildman Fabrication.
 
i work in account management for various emerging technologies... most recently lots of mobile marketing and m-commerce. if you bought a ringtone or wallpaper for your phone in the last two years it probably ran through our pipes.

some programs you might recognize have occured on many game shows and reality tv programs...

all the text messaging for Deal or No Deal, Big Brother, Sunday Night Football, The Grammy's, the MTV Video Music Awards, etc...

it burned me out... now i am an account manager at a startup specializing in web 2.0/rich internet application development...
 
I am a finish carpenter for the union
Just got done with an 8 million dollar finish job (that’s a lot for a department store) at Nemin Marcus in Natick where I did more stainless steel metal fabrication then actual carpentry

I had a 2nd interview last PM that went well, I am hopeing to see an offer today or tomorrow. It is for a mechanical assembly/layup position for a manufacturer of helocopter and aircraft parts.

I have my fingers crossed.
 
Stay at home Dad, with three kids under 6.

In the pre kid days, I was/am a wood biologist and building contractor. I still do one or two small projects year. My favorite projects latly have been custom wine cellers.

I'm a mechanical engineer for one of the big defense contractors. Work mostly supporting production of submarine electronic equipment.

I was in North Chicago for 4 months in 05 relocating Hospira off the Abbott campus. :D
My company is currently managing all of the lab equipment at Shering Plough in Jersey and Cambridge.
Lets talk if you think it would work out for Abbott at your location. ;)

Aha, fellow landscraper! I run the horticulture division of our company, Christensen Landscape Services, catering to the high end residential market. Our view must be similar, when I'm not buggin on their shrubs and lawns, I'm checkin out the ocean. 75% of our clientele is oceanfront mansions.
 
I'm a full time musician, Music Production & Engineering major at Berklee, I play drums in a local metal/experimental band called The Newtz, gig occasionally in local theatres or get commisioned from teaching buddies of mine for their school jazz bands or whatnot... It's more of a lifestyle than a career choice, I work in a cafe to pay my bills while I'm still in school. Rock stardom and world domination come later with producing records!

I'll have to send my kid over to you to talk music at the FG. He's 15, plays 3 different horns, self taught guitar (he's good) practices 3-4 hours a day. Is thinking about a career in music. has a band with 2 other guys.

Nice! Sounds like he's got work cut out for him already, I'll be sure to teach him a thing or two about the real world ;)
