Pretty sure cadmium plating is not feasible to do at home due to the toxic nature of the process. Zinc, nickel and copper among others are easily done at home. Electroplating is a different process from anodizing.

I agree with this. We bought a polypropylene tank from Cannon Industrial Plastics and an electric heater. I'm pretty sure the small heater is process technology brand. We're not experts but we make it happen!
