What did you do with your truck today?

Looking good Andy.

Sent from my detachment from reality.

Fixin some s*** so the wife can drive my pos 2f easier...hopefully :)

I can tell where exhaust has been leaking but worst issue is the fuel leaking past (or air) the riser block under carb.

Mine was leaking about the same.

Are you pulling the air rail? Mine was salvageable until I got to the last one. Pipe twisted.

No, no desmog yet. Just fixing (or trying to) a stumbling idle the truck has had forever. Kinda sounds like it has an oversized cam in it. Seems to slowly be getting worse so I thought I'd try to fix it.

I bought this stuff because it has 4 different types of gaskets & thicknesses. I used the thickest cork one for riser to intake connection where it seems the majority of leaking is coming from. Got tons left if anybody needs some.

Let you know how it runs once I get the carb slapped back on.

FWIW, Jim C scolded me for using gaskets as there are none from the factory, and each gasket has two surfaces to potentially leak.

The carb insulator is the gasket.

That sheet of Felpro is the stuff I used.

Cool to hear no gaskets are needed/recommended. Air is the only element passing through there, right?

Sean, did you have two existing gaskets or one? I only had one.

Well my idea didn't work! Turns out JimC is probably right. At first I was thinking the gasket would be better because the riser block is so hard & brittle from age I don't see how the hell it could seal. When I tried my thick gasket I quickly realized the carb was sitting too high now to get the nuts started. I had to remove the gasket and only use the riser.
Andy, about 5 years ago I did this same job and put the thin homemade gasket on here. I guess over the years it just did exactly what Jim said it would.
Long story short my truck still runs like s***. Jim rebuilt my carb about 7 years ago when I first bought my truck. My guess is I need to adjust the valves next and possibly plugs cap & rotor button.
I'm done busting knuckles! Time to have some fun.

Top off fluids. Air up tires. Install top half of fan shroud. Disconnect broken side marker light assembly. (Light was dangling in inner fender) Install air filter. Tags renewed. Booster seat installed. Look out KTown, Jack and Daddy rollout tomorrow!

Back in the saddle again!!! Congrats!!

Hellz yea! Be good to see the old blue 60 at GSMTR again

Used my winch to pull a F250 out of a yard. During yesterday day's heavy afternoon rain a guy got his work truck stuck behind my house in my neighbor's yard. I tried once to convince them I could pull them out but they called the wrecker anyway. As the rain picked up I suggest it again and he said sure. It was a long pull because I wanted to stay on the driveway, but within minutes he was free. Turns out my neighbor's grandson is a major thief and the sheriff and this guy were there to retrieve his stolen work trailer.

Put drilled and slotted rotors with new pads on the rear of my 80 series.
It was definitely due!

Fronts to come next ...

Nice but do you take thing off road much? I can't help but think all those slots & holes will fill up with trail funk.
