Finally picked up a 54mm socket, and tightened the driver side wheel bearing. I noticed while hunting down a metallic grinding noise that I had some 12-6 play on that side. Also installed some Hawk LTS 80-series brake pads on the front, as that's where my noise ultimately was coming from. And cleaned out a LOT of mud from my recent wheeling trip, the calipers were packed with it.
You may want to check your dust shield clearance. Just a thought, cheers.

Replaced my 23 year old starter. Piece of cake after following @SUMMIT CRUISERS directions. If I was replacing just the starter it would've taken me about 90 minutes. If I ever have to do it again I could do it in an hour now.

Replaced my 23 year old charcoal canister with the VC120 from Vato Zone. Can't believe I didn't do this sooner. Not sure if it will make any difference but it sure as hell cant hurt.

Checked my knuckles since I had the front end up and wheels off. As I suspected the passenger side was low. I filled it with moly using the frosting bag method. This is pure genius. Took about 5 minutes. Driver side was a little low but not as bad as the pass side. A knuckle job is in my future. But not until I pick up my Hundy so I have something to drive and don't have to rush through it and can do wheel bearings at the same time.

I had a real close look at the dust shields, to rule out a rock or something being jammed between the dust shield and the rotor, and all looked good there.

Pulled the 2f off of the trailer and started tearing it down. I will have to make a list of everything I need to replace while the engine is out and order parts. If my starter wasn't fairly new I could replace it in a lot less than an hour.:flipoff2:

Happen to have a link to the starter replacement?

I didn't follow a link per se. Just had read where @SUMMIT CRUISERS recommended jacking up (and placing on jack stand) the passenger side and removing the wheel and fender skirting to get access. Then you remove the vapor canister (and replace if it hasn't been replaced in a while, use the AutoZone VC120 for $54.99), disconnect the power to the starter by taking off the nut that holds the cable in place and unplug the connector to the wiring harness. There are two bolts that hold the starter on. One on the top right and one on the bottom left. Undo the top bolt first. The bolts are 17mm. You need a 6" extension to get to them. It's actually pretty easy. I freaked out because the wiring harness retaining clip came out of the wiring harness on the top right bolt. I didn't put it back but zip tied the harness out of the way. I don't like that clip. You have to be careful with it, mine almost ended up in the crank opening where the alternator goes. That would've sucked! This is why it is important to take the top right bolt out first. Then just replace everything in reverse.

It is amazing how much better my truck starts now. And it seems to run better with the new charcoal canister as well. That could be psychosomatic but I think it runs close to when I bought it new.

I used the Duralast alternator instead of the Denso reman starter from the dealer. Normally I go with OEM but I had heard a few stories of guys buying remans from the dealer and them being dead in the box. AutoZone tests the starter in the store. And, honestly, I think it is a Denso starter. Everything on it was exactly like my original but missing the Denso sticker.

Successfuly changed my timing belt, camshaft seal, head cover seal, both v-belts and the water pump. Hooray!

Also successfuly punched a hole in my radiator trying to put the new pump in. And the rad was brand new. Even bigger hooray!

Hint to myself: those fxxxers are pretty fragile. Well, now I know. So today I have to take it out and let some helpful soul weld it up.

This is on my short list of projects for my ute. Where did you source these? Are you doing the fancy headlights with projectors in them?

JW Speakers on order....should be getting 6 of them soon! 4 to use and 2 as spares. IH8mud has gotten me in the habit of always having spares in the garage! I should block this site for me to have any kind of savings!

All I need is to have @NLXTACY make me some wire harnesses for the conversion!

Do you have the stock speakers? What I did was clip the pigtails off of the stock speakers and solder them onto the constacts of the replacement speakers. Plug and play as Mr. T had meant it to be.

Well, Sunday was an eventful day. I adjusted my pan hard bars for the new Slee springs. Made finished and installed some simple rear sway bar drop brackets. Made some simple brackets to mount my 32" LED light bar on my front bumper, I will be making nice brackets when time allows, but for now they are fine and don't look bad. Also adjusted my LSPV as far up as I could in hopes of better braking...couldn't really tell if it helped. Adjusted my castor via my upper link (3-link). Forgot to shorten my drag link lol. But I did install new vapor barriers in my doors and replaced the factory sealant used. I happen to have left over auto body caulk strip from my rear fender trim which is a black tacky tar like rope... Pretty sure it's what was originally used, worked very well. Then I assembled my driver and passenger side dashboard and installed the kick panels/sill plates and door panels etc... And last but not least I installed my accessory swithces in the shifter console and sat it in place...still waiting on 1 switch to arrive, then I will fasten it down. Whew..what a mouthful. This is the only place I really talk, I'm a quiet person in person. But when I talk...I TALK.
