More axle work. A few more to get set up.

The dual swing out latch is the only known issue. To prevent from "Rattling" you really need to tighten the mechanisms and it takes some force to latch/un-latch.
I have both 4x4labs and Avid offroad. Both very similar in design but Avid has the better latching mechanisms.
I picked up a silicone trivet from Walmart and then used silicone adhesive to glue it to the swing arm stop. No rattle at all for years. The first one I made did wear out but I cut another piece out of the trivet and made a new one. 99 cents, well worth it.

Agreed! I need to weld mine up that's in the garage now! @TRDdrew is patiently waiting for my Kaymar! @hisandhers80s you are a machine getting all of this work done...you've kept me inspired to keep up at less than half of your pace!

I've been doing tons on mine getting ready for my trip out to Cruise Moab in a few weeks...it should be about a 5k mile round trip. Finished platform/drawers, rewired dash for sub woofer & new locker switches, all fluids, and so much more....

Topping off my project list was the TEQ Offroad under hood light strip kit...nice harness and quality led strip, installation was a breeze. I wired up to my secondary battery and just did the switch (omitted the plunger). This is in my pitch black garage, only light is the strip...impressive!

I did the same but used a $10 LED strip that I cut in two pieces and a waterproof switch.

It is amazing how bright it is.

I don’t know why everyone complains about the pesky heater hose. It is really easy when you pay someone else to do it! No way I was going to force my starting-to-become arthritic hands into that space and spend 2 hrs cussing and sweating and maybe crying. So I treated myself to paid labor to replace all the heater hoses, heater control valve, and thermostat. I did the easy work this time - changed out all exterior lights (except headlights) for LEDs

Be a man...

Struggle
Ha. Blood & sweat in it for sure. I’ve wrenched nearly every bolt on this thing for the 24 years I’ve had it, along with a few British sports cars that require you to dislocate your thumb to get to certain bolts, along with all my motorcycles. There are some bolts & things on the Cruiser that are simply poor thinking - we all know that. Solutions not snark. Cheers.

I had a filter back off on the way from CA to CO & lost half the crank case oil somewhere near Luna Mesa...so, not tight enough for all you "hand-tight" guys. I put 'em on about 1/8 turn past hand tight & my grip strength is good. Seems like every other filter just doesn't want to come off easy. 4 bolts thru the wrench works, but it has me contemplating relocating it, done it on some track cars, & then, shucks, I can change my oil every time I change my dirt bike oil, like every 20 hours. Not that it needs that, but I bet there's someone here that's relocated it.

This sucker really did not want to come off. My 15 minute oil change turned into a full morning of cursing at this bugger. Who makes an oil filter relocation kit? Not the little 90º bend guy, but something to put it in a more accessible spot?

Wow! How tight was the filter. All that is needed is one grunt pass tight.

Will remove any filter that fits. This oil filter tool has worked every time without fail.

Great info as I was never able to find the right size at the local auto parts store

One of these tools, a wobble socket, long extension and a ratchet is my preferred go to setup for getting them loose because you are right, it is a crappy spot. My be a man struggle was a jest. 🍻

This, as my kids say, "has been a thing forever":

FWIW, it also makes oil sampling much easier, if you're into that sort of thing.
