What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

A/C recharged, we'll see if I need a new condenser and drier; but at least I know the compressor is working!
EGR Deleted
Greased the driveshafts
Power steering flush
PB Blasted the O2 sensor nuts
Left side view mirror still a little shaky - what size ball bearings were original on them? 3/16" ? I have the two washer and bolt to squish the spring down already and it's still rocking on the mirror mount about where those ball bearings are.
Antenna replacement failed - got the wrong part number; ended up cutting the plastic push line thinking I could spool another into it - nope; I was stupid so now I got a power conversion antenna on the way rather than replace the motor and tear into my dash to replace it.

discovered O2 sensor is throwing codes and it wasn't just the EGR, so ordered two new denso ones and a charcoal canister (AC Delco 215-153); so that's next weekends problem as well as a transmission flush.
I'm not 100% on the ball bearings you're talking about, but the solvefunction kit solved my shakey mirror issue: Bracket to fix shakey mirror on FJ80 - https://solvefunction.com/shop/ols/products/150053334-bracket-to-fix-shakey-mirror-on-fj80-fzj80-lx450-with-bottom-reinforcement

New booster and master install.

Did you go with the OEM brake booster or aftermarket and why did you make that choice. I feel like I should go ahead and replace my booster and master while the engine is out but $800 seems like a lot for the OEM booster when you can get an aftermarket for around $250.

Aftermarket, city racer sells them. I have went OEM and seiken and for the moneys this one makes sense to me. I have installed two of the city racer ones with zero issues in 3 years time.

Only took a week to get the entire brake system replaced including all new Slee braided lines to the calipers and stainless steel braided extended brake lines. My Motive power bleeder should be here tomorrow, and already have my replacement bleeder cap and hope to get my brake system bled and back operational so the 80 can at least be a roller.

I also bought the LCP HD Sway Bar kit but did not realize that if you have the side mount sway bar brackets, you have to use nutserts to move to the under frame mounted bracket. Anyone know what the proper size nutsert is for this application and do I use the same bolts for this as the side mounted brackets are held on with?

Should be M8s, like the side brackets uses.

Check to make sure your 80 has already pre-threaded holes. My 93 znd the 97 did not need the nutserts. It had the holes already

Get this adapter for the motive! Nothing else works IMO.

I got this one since I could get it fast. If I struggle with the bleed, then I will certainly order one!
I’ve been using that one for years and it has worked great.

Finished what I started last night. Installed rear door speakers and removed the sub / disconnected roof speaker wires.

I used that one today and it works great, I always pile some rags around and cover the fender that brake fluid will eat up your paint!

After a few trips to the store, I had everything I needed to put the nutserts in. Who knew a 7/16 drill bit was not in any of the standard drill bit sets. I checks 4 different sets and did not have one. BUT, I did not discover I did not have one until after I had ran to the store for the nutserts and went to install and had to make another trip to the store for the drill bit. But I finally got the LCP Severe Duty Rear Sway Bar mounts and links installed. I have to wait until I get the axle off the jacks to finish installing the new sway bar. I also got the inside ready for carpet by adding the foam to the entire floor and the rear quarter panels. Once the last 4 pieces of the body mount kit arrive I can put the carpet back in.

Ah ok, that looks decent too. I tried the one that has the chains and j-hooks at first. It was a disaster!
