Santa is ahead of schedule. My 3 year old loves the teal colored coils but I'm probably going to sand/primer/rattle can vs. powder coat gloss black. Black coils were on backorder unfortunately. It's too bright and neon and ruins the OEM look im going for.

Still waiting on my bolt on tire carrier and bushings for everything that I could possibly think of.

Next up, figure out a hidden winch solution, check camber, get delta 3 or 3L arms and 35s.

Another absolute blast of a weekend at the sand dunes with my stroker 80 series. This time with revalved king 3.0 shocks. I swapped the front compression shims from 0.15s to 0.20s and swapped the rear compression from 0.12s to 0.15 and opened all piston bleed holes. The piston bleed removal gave me lower low speed damping and the thicker shim stacks gave me significantly increased mid and high speed damping, absolutely perfect. This 80 series only has around 9 inches of wheel travel upfront and about 10 inches in the rear but I am driving it like it has 20! I can hold much higher speeds when attacking steep angles head on and the G outs no longer send me to the bumpstops like before making it much easier to climb tall steep dunes. Also socks up the washboard and medium high frequency whoops very well, can maintain 140-160KM going from point A to B confidently, but as soon as the large whoops come in I make full use of my brakes or else hello bumpstop.

Also the jumps are repeatable, not one off jump feel harsh and never repeat, I can jump over and over again and it feels smooth.

I also installed a stiffer rear sway bar from superior engineering while still retaining the factory front sway bar, to maximize oversteer, and it has made it much more stable especially in high speed high G turns or when going through dunes sideways. Even though I am in oversteer I feel like it holds the side angle much more predictably.

I still do not have four wheel drive, did not remount my front drive shaft yet but this thing definitely does not feel like its limited by that for this application lol.

Gone are the days where I thought the 100 series was superior due to IFS.

After checking the Emtron SL6 logs coolant temperature never went beyond 95c! stayed mostly between 82-88c and no logs of any knock but to be expected since I am running very low timing especially low RPM high load.

looking for right vent louver or both and interior gray door handle frames (just the rectangular part) if you have any of these for sale.

got mine at eBay - 30 bucks for 4 of them door handle things

finally got around to attempting to stop the tranny oil leak through the VSS - changed out the old O ring and this time pulled out the old oil seal and replaced that too - hopefully this stops it.

looks like the PO slotted an extra o ring where the VSS body meets the tranny case to try and stop the leak rather than investigate the cause........have only every seen one o ring on other people pics when they pull them......

Then tried to change out the diff oils (have done this before) and the tech who regeared me must have given it a few ugga duggas - seized on and I might have rounded out the rear diff oil fill bolt..... so now to go down that rabbit hole.....

You need to use a 6 sided socket on that🤠
Think impact socket

1/2" drive impact socket with a breaker bar, not an impact wrench. Push the socket very tightly onto the plug while twisting with the breaker bar.

I don’t own a impact wrench 😎
That plug obviously had a 12 point socket or wrench on it.

Another thing to consider is if the flat sections of the socket are recessed.

That is a thin area to grab, some sockets have radius on the outer face that make fully contacting a thin bolt head like that problematic.

You can grind the face of the socket flat so the flat parts contact the bolt head better

What color are these? Tough to tell in my phone.

My skills (maybe just a lack of M/T tires) failed to climb this hill on a 7 out of 10 trail in OnX Offroad… and trying to get turned around after backing down was no small feat either.

Finished up with a relatively easy 5 trail to a mountain top with a gorgeous view…

Been in a fog for quite a while now, literally.
Went for a drive to get above it.

I remember a TDY in UAE and the "Sunset Safari" tour, first half was 5 LC driving like this for like 20-30 min, before we ate dinner! it was awesome!
