Finally got off my backside and installed my Group 31T from Optima. Once I am finally finished with the install, need to secure the house battery (got too dark, even with a work light) and shorter up a Negative I will post pictures.

The 31 is a tall battery and I am a little concerned the posts my touch the hood, so I used rubber boots over the terminals I am concern about. The rubber boots are probably going to get doubled up for piece of mind.

Scott, I run a group 31 and the battery and the battery mounting tray has been moved up 1/2". I ended up cutting out a small piece of the inner hood where the positive post lines up then sprayed the area with rubberized undercoating.

She's a beaut' Clark

Looks great. What size tires and lift do you have?
Dobinsons 176 front and 185 rear linear springs with 37x12.50r17 tires. So about 3inches and the Kanati tires run a little smaller so only rubbing on front control arms at full lock steering.

Love the ride and stability of the linear springs but the do give up some flex/small bump compliance to the tapered and dual rate setups.

As I said in the post I used a rubber cap and this morning I popped the hood and saw where it is rubbing so I am going to drill the skeleton support to give a little more clearance. The rubberized undercoating is a good idea I was going to use a grommet.

I have been known to work on the LC with beer and alcohol in my system. Not sure how long the adult beverages were in my system though.

Maybe you might be able to help me out. I am thinking about one of these gang switch setups for my 80. My concern is if I use the house battery to power everything would there be a constant draw with the gang switch only coming on based off ignition power?

I was thinking running a frig, fogs and USB plugs off the gang switch. E-lockers wired in the barrel switch of the factory locker.

I can't remember all I want to do, damn adult juice (SanTan Moon Juice Galactic IPA tall boy).

I wish I could be more helpful, I would think not but hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.

How's the MPG with those size tires? did you regear anything?

10-11mpg with no gearing correction. Have 4.88s sitting on the shelf to go in before spring and planning the 10% underdrive Tcase gears as well. Its an east coast trail rig so gearing won't be to attack the abysmal MPGs, but to get back crawling ability.

Never drove with stock tires but its pretty slow on hills. Keeps up fine on flat ground 60+mph but doesn't hold 4th gear here in the mountains much.

Had great time at Rhino Adventure gear sat meet. Got doughnuts and coffee and they had a free weigh in. Got my rig weighed with 1/2 tank of gas. Got to finally meet the members of TLCA in my area. Awesome people. Looking forward to joining and going on runs.
