Spent way to much on parts with BF, Started removing the paint stripes on the molding and new rear hatch struts.

I've been looking around the interior, Ill know more when I pull the dash down but this truck appears to be in virgin territory, the only electrical mod I've found is the fog lights that are attached to the battery with a fuse and the switch running inside. I'm pretty happy about that.

4 new speakers. The Polk db651 lasted 11 yrs. They were starting to crackle. Got these JBL’s on Black Friday sale. We will se how they sound.
Soldered stock connectors on and the Polk grills fit great! The new ones did not come with grills.

Pick up from Ozark overland outfitters after they installed lift, shocks, track bars, hd end links, moved frontend forward to accommodate new 37s tires/wheels, safari snorkel, & PT kit. Today I removed the running boards and rhino rack (to fit in garage) and installed an oem antenna.

It finally happened and I’m okay with it. I made the mark and can check the box on my 1997!

If I averaged 12.5mpg over 26 years it only took me 24,000 gallons of fuel. If over 26 years time I averaged $2.50/gallon it cost me $60,000 to get here. Jeez!

Edit per CDan (11/28): these are ballpark guesstimates and I have no idea how many gallons I really burned at what price!

Ballpark figures.

I have logged every ounce of fuel I have put in my 80 over the last 30 years.

Finally finished up working on the rig after Rubicon/Fordyce back in Aug. The dual electric fans conversion with PWM controller is a success. The ability to adjust temp. is a huge win for me. The rig runs @ 180F and the PWM controller keeps them nice and quiet. Missed driving this thing and feels nice to be back behind the wheel and just in time for the holidays

PAIR delete. Welded some plates over the cutoff OEM flanges for block off plates. So much more room for activities!

Finished the donor drivetrain installation on Eva. Realized it had an Clinton-era aftermarket alarm, which I removed. Turns over but doesn't start yet. No spark. Diagnosis in process.

Thanksgiving and w/end exploring dirt. Fri-Sun camped/explored with my son and his wife.

Nice days - on the cool side with a bit of wind. Cold nights though. High-ish desert nights :)

First pics from Black Mountain area just north-west of Barstow (or north of Hinkley).

cheers,

His gmc sierra did well - bit of a tight fit in places. But 37's help and he does have a pretty neat suspension system (bunch of expensive King bypass shocks etc) - but then he does work as a mech eng at Kings :)

He got to have fun doing some 4wding beyond just high speed desert stuff that he enjoys.

cheers,
george.

I sure do love brand new OEM parts!! New steering box and 105 pitman arm straight outta Dubai compliments of Partsouq. My OG box wasn't terrible, but brand new is certainly a significant difference...and yes, the nut on the pitman arm was not torqued down in this picture. That was done though! :)

Nice!!! What did that run by chance? Also, is the pitman arm nut tight?
