I am 0-3 when I am in Ouray in regards to Black Bear. It is always closed. I did almost make it to the summit once but it was covered in snow so we had to turn around.
That's a bummer.
This is my first time on black bear. It's really fun if you like heights, narrow off camber and drop offs. Other than that its not really very hard without snow just scary.
Amazing views. Summit is almost 13,000ft

Rewired my winch cover lighting with waterproof LED strips and also wired up a pair of 9" HID flood lights :)

Damn things are already bright as hell and I've got 5 more going on the roof

Working on getting this finished up and bolted into the pintle hitch mounts (drilled the holes tonight in the 1/2 thick angle iron)...then I can carry the bikes much easier and have a step!!

No, I'm not worried about the ground clearance, I don't do the whole rock crawling thing.

All new vacuum hoses from Beno, installed. Waiting to see P0402 results after cleaning, and clearing.

A few hoses had split ends and very brittle. Glad I replaced them.

Thx, pretty happy with it. The front Is about an 1" lower than the rear. May buy the metal-tech spacers to level it. Wait and see how it settles in.

Consider using poly spacers as they will provide some cushion and reduce some of the front "clunk" on speed bumps etc....

I did 20mm front / 10 mm rear to balance my 4" kit out once I had the armour / bumpers on.....

Looking forward to your review on the Radflo's - those are damn sexy !

cheers!

Front DS door:

New mirror
New door handle
New belt moulding
New inner wiper seal
New glass run
New door weatherstripping
Replaced switch bezel with undamaged used bezel
Dynamat
Ensolite
New Pioneer 6.5 speaker

Nice! Will you do the other 3? Did that speed up the up/down of the glass?

I didn't really have a window speed problem, just decided to replace all the rubber on that door (including the run) since they seemed pretty dry and crushed in general. Also, I figured spending money on the LX on stuff that isn't broken is a sure-fire way to please the Cruiser Gods.

No difference in speed after the job but everything does feel a little bit 'tighter.' The new belt moulding and inner seal are definitely grabbing the window much tighter than before - a benefit for those situations when you want to roll your window up and down to clear fogging.

I'll probably do the same job on the front PS door (minus the mirror and handle). The rears will just get the Dynamat + Ensolite + new Pioneers, and some Gummi Pflege re-conditioning of the rubber.

Thx for the tip on the spacers. I will definitely check those out. Have only driven about 100 miles on it so far and love the ride. Going to Big Bear next weekend to get its first trail run.
