Built a tent for the truck

What did you use for your floor? Planning to do something similar but need to figure that part out. Looking at composite panels.

Pulled my throttle body for the third time.
Originally reset tps. Still idled at 1k in park.
Pulled a second time, replace and set new tps.
Working outside in 30* and put the feeler gauge under the cable side dashpot thing instead of the throttle stop screw like an idiot. Still idled high.

Thought about my life decisions, pulled it again, recalibrated using feelers in the right location.
Idles perfect now. Been chasing this for like a year plus. So incredibly stoked. I can now have a throttle body off in about 4 minutes. Wish the turbo to tb piping was easier to get back on though :hillbilly:

Pulled my EFI fuse to reset any learning and found both my headlight fuses slightly melted. Anyone else had this happen?
I would randomly get my headlights coming on every once in a while with the truck off and parked.

My wife found a great deal on a Tepui Hy-Box so I picked it up earlier this week.

Half the price of new and supposedly only used for a photo shoot. Now do I need a better rack?

Left the house at 4 am to see if winter had moved any elk onto some private property where I have a tag.... No luck. After a few hours of looking for some mammals I decided to switch and look for some fish. I continued on to the lake and got in a few hours of ice fishing for the first time this year.

After fishing I did some more exploring, drove home, and enjoyed the beautiful Southern Utah winter views. Oh yeah I almost forgot, I also had to tear into my rear hatch and disconnect the wiper controller because my rear wiper somehow decided to turn itself on and get stuck at full speed..... that will be tomorrow's project lol.

Have had a set of OME stock height springs for about a decade and the rear seemed to sag a little when loaded up. A pair of rear, lightly used, Ironman springs came up for sale earlier this year and I grabbed them. I thought (maybe poor reading comprehension) that they were stock height. I think they were actually 2" lift springs. Installed 'em a few weeks ago and noticed an improved ride. The front springs were still OME and now the 80 had a distinct butt up rake to it. At night the headlights were great a illuminating potholes, not so much for down the road lighting. The clear course of action was to go with new 2" lift Ironman springs in the front. Got 'em in today. Cruiser sits more level and the ride is improved. Interestingly the stock lift OME and 2" Ironman springs are the same height.

Are you reusing any parts under the hood? It all looks so greasy and so clean clean!!

Yes some. Manifolds, timing case cover, valve cover, head and more.

It takes a lot of work to get them “fresh” again. This one is about down to a half day until first start.

Cheers

STARTED THE KNUCKLE REBUILD AND SENT IN THE SEAT BELTS TO SAFETY RESTORE. why am I yelling? Started soakin'me nuts in pen-oil and pulled the calipers off. A couple caliper pistons are sticking so, guess i'm rebuilding those too! I have some positive pressure on the brake peddle to stop the brake fuild dribbles, and my neighbor texted that my brake lights were on after it got dark, forgot to disconnect the battery.

Welp. There’s the problem. What’da y’all think? Time for some reman calipers?

two of the four bores look like this below the inner seal. I have not split them, nor have I looked at passenger side. The pistons look ok. I couldn’t pop this one with air and had to work it out with a brass drift. The pistons cleaned up ok, some anomalies at the top.

Last image is the one bore I spent most time cleaning so far.

tossed some new pads in the rear, cleaned up the slide pins and calipers were still good. front pads are about still half pad life and caliper pistons still moving free.

front wheel bearings need to be tightened up so ill have to order the front hub gaskets and get that taken up later
