Finally made some progress on my second battery and rear quarter panel project! In typical Qball fashion I changed my mind AGAIN on how to wire it up and where everything will be but I’m pretty happy with my current design.

I happen to run a 4x4 lab cargo basket and my new battery fits just about perfectly in it and with plenty of space for a water jerry can!

Now that I finally am able to have the second battery in the back like how I always wanted, the wiring and rear quarter panel setup just got a whole lot easier. I only need a small cable to positive main. Ctek can be mounted like how it supposed to be, second battery is inches away so I don’t need huge a$$ power cables every where.

I think I just needaux battery positive and negative buses for the inverter, compressor and fuse block, then I’m pretty much done!

Only downside I see in my new design is that I can’t jump myself so need to pack one of those tiny lithium jump battery thingy.

Everyone here does stuff way beyond what I’m ever thinking.

I love taking a lot of these ideas into account for my modular/adaptable modes for my truck.

Forgot to post up last weekend... Saturday my battery randomly died. Like, started fine in the morning, went to cars and coffee, started a couple times there, went to pick up a friend to have breakfast and when we came back out it was dead. Could barely jump it. Of course all my suppliers were closed so I got to pay retail for a battery. Went to batteries + and got the meanest 27F they had in stock.

One of my employees borrowed my truck the other day to get lunch and mentioned when he came back how it felt slow to shift and wouldn't kick down. I adjusted the cable a bit and the shifts firmed up a lot (and, oddly, I'm getting about 1 mpg better than normal since then). Also finally ordered a Yellow Box to correct my speedo (and shift points). Next time I have the trans pan off I'll adjust the plunger for a bit more pressure but until then it is much improved.

Lastly just sent my payment for a replacement steering wheel. It's grey but I'm sick of my ragged tape wrapped wheel and I don't want to spend a ton on it. I don't think the grey will look too bad but if it bothers me I can wheelskin it. Can't do that with the wheel I have now because some of the foam is gone.

Still need to put in my new used front diff. I just haven't had a lift free. Hopefully next week. I want to time myself and see how quick I can do it haha.

Perhaps this should be titled what am I going to do with my Cruiser next week. I will be out west near Moab next week for some videography. I’m trying to determine where on the white rim Road these pictures were likely taken. Anybody?

That is Shafer Switchbacks it isn't as crazy as it looks in pictures. In real life it is a nice big well maintained road. lol

I actually prefer to do it the opposite direction. I drive out Potash and go up from the boat launch.
