now that is impressive. Tugging my 1100 lb pop up across Wyoming was enough for me
Agreed. Maybe he has a supercharged motor in that 80? My popup is also 1100# and it can get tough on our hills in AZ.

Nope just regular 'ole 80. Wasn't too bad...chugged along at 55-60 mph at 2600 rpm or so. Temps never got above 198. It was in the low texas hill country so nothing too high. There were a couple long hills where I would get my momentum up to 65 mph and by the top of this hill I was probably 50 mph. Sometimes the lower gear would kick in and the rpms would skyrocket. Probably got about 6 mpgs though lol

I’m terrible about taking pictures so this is all I really go. I’ll have to ask her for others.
if she made it through that then she's a keeper.

now that's more like it! I recently replaced the tank in my 62 with a 40 gallon long range tank and it at least makes me feel better to go 500 miles or so on one tank. They also sell a supplementary 24 gallon tank for the 80 to nearly double the fuel capacity. just sayin'.

Replaced my washer diverter valve and it didn't fix anything. When I hit the rear washer it comes out the front at about half pressure. When I hit the front it comes out the front full pressure. Pretty sure I hooked it up right..

Also flushed my heater core then let CLR sit in it for about 30 mins. Got nothing out of it. Everything was clean and clear. I'm leaning more toward my water pump or thermostat as the source of my heat problems. It's so weird because the operating temp stays dead nuts between 186 and 195 so I had kinda ruled that out early on but maybe it's flowing enough to keep the engine cool but not flowing enough through the heater. I pulled most of the dash apart again and checked all the flappers and linkages and they all seem to be doing exactly what they are supposed to per the FSM. I'm really batting 1000 on this truck lately... Guess I'm driving the Audi again for a few days till I get parts. At least it has heated seats and good heat.

The only thing I successfully fixed was I replaced the fusible link and junction block. Some jackleg had bypassed it before I bought the truck with a normal wire.

Speaking of Bowfin Racks... ;)

I got the solar panel nestled down below the crossbar level so I can still use the full rack when needed. Next up is L-track runners down the sides for tie-down points.

Additionally - found out the rack runs through the auto carwash just fine. The operator looked at it for a bit, shrugged, and let it through. Worked out fine.

What solar panels do you have that nest so nicely in the Bowfin rack?
