Nothing a little brake cleaner and a pressure washer wont take of. How do I know that is how I deal with a leaky steering box stains on my driveway.

But my drive way runs to the street, street gutters run to a drain system that goes into the ocean that’s how beach towns are.
I’m an advocate for keeping the ocean water clean old surfers are just that way

Yeah, never lived around the ocean but grew up in Oregon and went to the coast all the time. Then in high school spent a year at a boarding school in La Selva Beach.

Cut off the old engine mounts and smoothed, cleaned, & prepped the frame for welding on Rampt Custom's steering box & panhard brace kit. Painted those sections & the braces with a coat of Steel-It. Hoping to have it welded on next week.

Replaced all the front suspension bushings, changed the oil, then put it to work. Slow but steady.
Now time to enjoy the views and monsoons

80s where made for 37s the just look right !! It's the sweet spot.

I have a 12-6 wheel bearing clunk and I wonder if the tie rod ends are loose.

If you can have someone help move the wheel like that while you put your hand on the tie rod
If there’s an issue with the Tyrod, you’ll be able to feel it.
Movement at 6 & 12 is most likely a wheel bearing, but could also be the knuckle bearings as well.

knuckles were done 3 years ago. My buddy mentioned that the wheel bearing came loose twice and that makes me think the bearing is cooked

I also have no history on the tie rod ends and I want to just not worry.

I feel a slight report from the tie rod end that almost feels like a knock on that side, front of the knuckle. Also can tell that the injection mould marks of the new tires are worn on the outside of the tire but not the inside.

Went with @cruiserinsanity to pick up a pair of 77/78 Toyota pickups and I came home with a '99 locked 100 series. Price was right.

The bearing are most likely fine especially if you’re following the FSM they tend to loosen up.
Doesn’t mean the bearings are bad just loose.

They need to be tighter than what’s called for in the FSM while documented here on Mud.

Came home early from the Eastern Sierras. S.Tahoe to Mamoth and looped into Yosemite via Tiago pass so I can prep for the A750f swap @Cruisers and Co .
