Loaded up the rig and went to NH for some skiing with family and friends.

Blew the HG about 2/3's of the way there and got a ride on a AAA flatbed.

Repair plan in progress w/ lots of help from the Mud community. Hope to have it back on the road in relatively short order.

Seriously, how is that thing that clean?????? Do you store it in a dust free room and never drive it?
Nope, 3 week’s ago it looked like this on John Bull.

Rinse with a sprinkler underneath. Then spray with simple green and let soak in, rinse with garden hose, wire brush, and elbow grease. Lots of acetone, cleaning with rags, repeat until numb, then paint.

It’s supposed to rain this weekend during Desert Rendezvous. I’m still finding mud in places from the last time I ran Fish Creek in the rain

:hmm: The truck has changed a lot in the past year looking at those two pictures.

Not the 1st attempt, but over the weekend finally made progress and troubleshot the pesky CEL and P0401 code. While not as exciting as more tangible mods, it is gratifying, if even temporary to have success.

Using the FSM procedures, and a few from MUD, I was able to confirm the EGR modulator was INOP. That and a few clogged ports here and there, plus clearing the code and CEL, I'm happy to report that the 20+ year old 80 passed the tightening Colorado emissions yesterday.

Good for another year.

Wow that is ALOT of elbow grease, I probably still have dirt on my LX from many different trips ago. My definition of elbow grease is power wash the underside and that's about it. I don't want to remove my rust prevention aka grease you know.

Knocked out the rear Tourflex suspension. Everything fit as it should. Very nice quality on these parts!

OME L shock compared to 41mm Tough Dog...

Obligatory coil comparison. OME 863J and Tourflex 3".

S,

41mm foam cell shocks are made by either Gabriel or Tenneco (Monroe) in the US or Mexico. Then sent to AUS for QA/QC, batch testing and final assembly/packaging.

J

Mine have Gabriel on the bushing.

OME L front shocks are a bit longer than the 41mm Tough Dog.

Very pleased with @reevesci 's excellent service, great communication, and quality product. Look forward to my next purchase from him, the redneck skid plate.

I have been hiring agressively in our SLC office over the past 2 years, by end of this year I will have about half my department located there...good reason to relocate.

I'll come visit. What sort of departments are located there?

As for my 80, I finally got around to buying the diverter valve for the rear windshield and a new rear hatch lift assembly.

If you guys get aggressive with your strategies, I would at least crank this song once before I agreed to work anywhere.

Dottie Peoples can belt it out and Mikey will never be alive again. I will give anyone $100 if they can tell me what "Ina Bitta Hot Sun" means. Paypal, tomorrow.

Was broken down, by the side of the road, yeah
Was crawling in the darkness like a king snake in the woods
We were hiding in the tall grass
Hiding in the tall grass
Just looking for a place to shed our skins

We're gonna summon the Holy Ghost from the battlefield
And in the morning this old world won't be the same
Won't be the same, Lord

Snapshot lightning, silhouette expressions,
Monumental faces in the flesh of Cypress trees and killing vines
Naked in the mud, girl
Let's sling a little mud, girl
Just looking for a place to shed our skins

We're gonna summon the Holy Ghost from the battlefield
And in the morning this old world won't be the same
We're gonna summon the Holy Ghost from the battlefield
And in the morning this old world won't be the same
Won't be the same, Lord

Feeling weak in the Itta Bena hot sun
Crawling to the station we were foamin' at the mouth
Sippin' on a tall boy, sippin' on a tall boy
Just looking for a place to shed our skins

We're gonna summon the Holy Ghost from the battlefield
And in the morning this old world won't be the same
We're gonna summon the Holy Ghost from the battlefield
And in the morning this old world won't be the same
We're gonna summon the Holy Ghost from the battlefield
And in the morning this old world won't be the same
Show me the way, Lord!

My daughter got one in Iowa. Never paid it. No consequences at all.

I’m not recommending anything to you but if I get one of those, it goes in the circular file.

I can’t wait to get out there. I bought land about 4 months ago. Just waiting for my son to graduate high school and to stack some more chips so I can move out there completely debt free. I will live in my 80 for the first couple of months while I build my shop and guest suite. Then Mrs LS1 will move out and we’ll live in the guest suite while I build the main house.

When it’s done the shop and guest suite will be open for anyone that comes out to wheel, ski, fish, or hunt.

It’ll be cool. I can’t wait.

1993 350k triple locked

Was driving along and the CDL lit up. Kind of faint at first but then full brightness.

And then it went away two miles later.

Is it a city in MS? Tried googling, but couldn't come up with much. Love some Panic though.
