That's a nice setup too. But I really like arb twin compressor's speed, compact size, cooling fan for extended use and internal pressure auto shut off.

The only place ARB wins IMO is size but you give up the ability to run tools.

35" 14 -35psi - 2min at sea level. ARB is maybe 10 sec faster for almost twice the cost:eek:
I have ran mine non stop for 4 hours 100% duty cycle
Puma has a tank to run air tools
I have run a PUMA since 2007 with 100's of hours of run time without any issues.
Do some research and ARB twins have had there share of problems

Bought another thing to throw money at...

Next step. 4 pin trailer pigtail!!

Towed it across the island with no lights. There were also no wires on the trailer to the lights so that's a wee issue too.

Also. New wheel bearings, I have think they've been lubricated exclusively with salt water for the last 20 years.

Weighs a whopping 256 lbs. Thnik I need airbags and a second tranny cooler? Ha.

Making good memories for the kids...

My wife and I used to live in Alameda about 15 years ago, on Verdi St at Lincoln. Loved it!

A York would be on my list if I were keeping the 1FZ. In large part because it wouldn't take up any room inside the truck.

Yes, ARB can be mounted in the engine bay and plumbed to a tank if needed but I can't justify that cost for what you get.

That's a nice setup too. But I really like arb twin compressor's features:

1. speed(true 5cfm and almost as Fast a day filling from air tank),
2. compact size(so many mounting options)
3. cooling fan for extended use(no overheating shutoff like other compressors In 110 degree heat)
4. internal pressure auto shut off(shuts off at 120psi when I move between tires).
5. Best customer service in the business

Anyone fit a CKMTA12 ARB air compressor?

I've had my ARB for over 5 years, through two different cars. It's never had any issues, and I have a 9L tank for storage plumbed in

I have tried to spread the joint with a large flat-blade screwdriver. If soaking overnight doesn't help break it free, I will try to remove the intermediate shaft using your guidance on removal. Much appreciated!

This is usually a good method. Using a wrench on the hex-shaped bolster of most large flathead screwdrivers will increase the leverage when doing this.

Finally finished my passenger door refurb. Replaced power window motor, regulator, and runs. Also cut new door cards and recovered in desert camo. Driver side next weekend. View attachment 1420508
Where did you source the motor and regulators? Brand? What is your opinion of the replacements compared to the oem units you removed? The door panel recover is a nice change.

Thanks. Bought the motors on Amazon and regulators off ebay a few years back. Sorry, but can't recall the brands, but definitely not OEM. I was expecting improved performance on window operation, but have not noticed a big change. Still pretty sluggish. If doing again, would probably do some better research on the motors. The regulators seem of same or similar quality to original equipment.

I recently refurbed my windows with new motors, rubber channels, inner and outer sweeps, and cleaned/greased regulator tracks. I believe the new rubber is sealing better, which puts a little more drag on the windows. Mine are a little faster than before with no more popping when the window reaches the top so I am happy. The rears were completely inop - siliconed shut, actually. @beno hooked me up with all the Mr. T goods for that project. A few hundred bucks later, my poodle can stick his nose out the back seat windows.

Getting ready to install this bad boy. Just came in from @FloridaFJ80 at Land Cruiser Heaven.

Probably true, although Arb says it can run air tools and if really needed I can just put a tank in my arb bumper. It has space behind my winch. Plus I don't have air tools....yet.

Probably true but I value my cargo space.

Like all products YMMV. Good to hear you had no issues with PUMA but I never had issues with ARB either. And best part of ARB is if I do have an issue warranty has never been an issue, their customer service is next to non.

Value is different for different people, what is more valuable to you isn't necessary valuable to others. I don't see the point of arguing about your perceived value with other, if you are happy with PUMA then good for you and I am just as happy with my ARB. We both made our case and now others can decide for themselves what is more valuable to them. I especially have no skin in the game because I don't sell anything for either product. I know you sell the mount for PUMA so I see a preference for that product so why don't you just make a mount for ARB? Plenty of people here run them so you might actually gain customers as suppose to tell people how their gears is inferior in your opinion because of your bias.

Alic, I trust that you will have an expedition thread on here that you will update regularly. Please.

My steering replace-a-thon continues. I was able to get the pump out and changed the gear over to the new one. If I could get the steering joint to let go of the steering box shaft, I would be doing better. I'll let it sit overnight soaking in AeroKroil and see if that helps.

One of my favorite parts of this project is replacing the reservoir-to-pump hose. I am pretty sure the old one is a section of garden hose. A red hose under the hood? This has bugged me for 13 months.

Sorry I would not of quoted your post if I new you were going to take it personal, but there are more than 2 choices for on board air as you stated.;)

Do be careful on who you judge when you dont know the facts. My friend Scott aka scrowley totally understood my position on Marlin Gears and it had nothing to do with gear quality. He did used his savings to order a pair of our Flip up Windows. I did immediately call and bust his balls for not supporting Marlin and spending money on not one but a pair of Flip up windows($850), a luxury item for most.

FYI - When you use cheap sarcasm to attach me and my products the orders follow. I do appreciate the added business but it would be nice if you did it pleasantly.

Thankfully my fab guy had a bunch of stuff ready today.
