Have you tried the "remove the valve core" method? It's cheap and fast.

For me the ability to stop and screw on the Staun's on, drive for ~5 minute, unscrew knowing my pressure is perfect in all 4 is worth the price of admission. But if you only air down less than <6 times a year it really doesnt matter what air down system you use.:meh:

I had a method similar to this, it's the "remove valve core then during replacement, let it slip out of your fingers and watch it disappear into the bush with air pressure rushing out of the valve stem" method.

very effective for lowering tyre pressures.

The valve stem cap will hold enough air in to go around back to the tool box and grab one of the dozens of spare valve cores you grabbed from the tire shop for free. They throw away buckets of the things and are usually happy to give them away.

Also the timing trick works great for figuring out how long to leave the core out.

I'm no stranger to spending cash on car stuff but the cost of the deflators is a bit much for me to accept given how much time they'd save me.

As it is I need to invest in my inflation game. The red amazon inflator (that I can't remember the name of) won't fill all four before the thermal switch trips

Interesting concept.

Prepped for a trip to moab/canyonlands next weekend. Checked fluids, knuckle studs, control arm bolts, made sure I had my tools/spare stowed away and that I had all the random odds and ends that don't always live in the cruiser that I will need. Is it Friday yet...

Added an under hood work light.

I also, ran wire through the firewall and door to power the driver door window.
& I fixed the rear hatch striker plate with the proper tapered screws.

is there more info / a build thread showing that aluminium box your switches are in? ..and that scary hole in the side has been on my mind for months, there seems no good way round it really.
I literally just measured the front panel, think it was 350x200 from memory, made the cutouts for the switches/outlets, cut the rear panel (200x80), found a spare bit of cardboard and did a template for the top, then grabbed the tig and stuck it all together! Nothing flash at all
Yeah it's a big hole in a small space! no room for error

Borrego trip. Lots of jeeps out there this weekend with the Tierra Del Sol thing going on.

Sandstone canyon is now passable to the old turn around if you have sliders or don't care about running boards. Rockers might take damage if you have nothing. To go past the turnaround you'll need some lift, sliders and some backup just in case. This pic was taken past the new block.

For those of you that aren't familiar with the trail, Sandstone canyon is an offshoot from the main trail called 'Fish Creek Wash' in Anza Borrego state park. It goes up into some tall narrows, but about a year ago a rock fall blocked the way. People have been chipping at the rock and it's reached the passable stage now for the mildly equipped.

Ran Diablo Dropoff in reverse as well, with the grading the park service did last year, you could get a Subaru up it.

You have inspired me to chip the crud off of my manifolds.
Get after it! Spray some degreaser and let it sit a bit.
I actually washed it for the first time in nearly a year and cleaned under hood for the first time in 3 years. It was really grimey shortly before this pic.

One wheel welded. Primer, paint, mount tire, then do it four more times. Daily drivers :meh:

Those rock rings are a lot nicer than the ones I have which came mounted on a set of tires I bought off CL recently. They have no drain holes at the out most perimeter like yours so they are on the chopping block. Looking forward to seeing yours all mounted up.
