What company should I hire to move my LX?

I just moved my LX from Illinois to Boston ($600 for 48 hour delivery). I used both uShip.com and transportreviews.com to solicit quotes from a number of companies.

Most of the bids I received were from Brokers who ended up booking my transport with a smaller private transporter who was already in the area. Unfortunately, I don't have the name of the broker I ended up going with, but both sites have an eBay-style review system that should help assess quality.

Also, there was a noticeable discount on transportreviews.com, compared to uShip (even from the same brokers).

Hope that helps!

My dad would probably fly out there and drive it down if ya'll could work out a deal. He drives for several local dealers in Arkansas moving cars from one lot to another but usually day trips where he isnt gone overnight. PM me if you want to talk to him but it wounds like U-ship would be cheaper.

Stay away from DAS, Dependable Auto Shippers. I had a bad experience with them shipping from VA to CA. I think someone else on the forum did too.

Also looking for shippers to go from the bay area to Atlanta. Also thinking about whether I should spend that money on taking a cross country trip for once... I got quoted for around $900 for the trip from various shippers.

This ^^^^
I continually drive the hundy from California to Illinois and back, not because it's cheaper (because it's definitely not) but because the trip is a blast every time.

I'll do it for you cheap. I have no work this summer so a couple days of driving would be nice. Seriously. Flat fee plus gas and tolls. I will take care of food and lodging.

Boston to Houston = 1850 miles.
1850 miles / 15 mpg = 123.33 gallons
123.33 gallons * $3.50 per gallon = $ 431.66

How much are they asking to put it on a car carrier and truck it down ?

I did this same math -- even used the same MPGs and $/gallon -- when I first read the original post.

Shipped my 40 from Cali to Michigan.

John at Quality Transport. He'll answer his phone anytime anywhere and he's a straight shooter. Tell him Max sent you.

Whoever you go with, make sure you verify the amount of insurance they carry and don't pay anything until you've confirmed a pick up date/time.

15 mph would be seriously pushing it for me, but i am all in favor of the road trip.
