What color rear badge should I buy?

Glad that helped. Also, I'd make sure to put some paint on that exposed primer before sticking another emblem over it. Even if you just masked off, lightly scuffed it up and hit it with some rusoleum enamel it would help to seal the surface. Primer doesn't seal it, but paint does. That way you won't have unseen rust growing behind that new blingy emblem. :)

I sprayed clear over the mess up but I will mask and sand and seal it before throwing on the badge. Thanks again.

Bamabrock: that is exactly what I'm trying to do. Looks great. I can't tell, is that a black or blue background on yours?

Rob, I believe it. I'm not willing to go from glass headlamps to poly ones, so I'll never truly update our truck. Just wanted to get the emblem to cover up my mess. I'll post some pics later.

Looks blue to me

I like your thinking. Not something a lot of people recommend.

So if you were me, and you had pulled the badge already in an attempt to debadge the truck, and you peeled the out layer repaint off while doing this and it left a horrible botched mark the length of the badge, you would just leave it like that? Go for it.

I would color match the badges to the trim and bumpers if it's an option for you. Too many other color options will make the truck too busy. Ultimately if you choose something that you like then who cares what anyone else thinks :)

Kinda wanna do this myself, butttt, the closest color coming to Mahogany Pearl is that Black Garnet Pearl and it's so much darker :-/
