What can you tell from my used spark plugs? (1 Viewer)

You have some with way too much carbon compared to the others. A few look like they are running lean. The electrode on the bottom right one looks like it has 200k miles on it.

What is the number on the plugs? They look normal for an old cruiser, but if they are W16, they should be swapped up to W14's. Hopefully that's what came in the new boxes.
I just bought a new air spark plug cleaner from Harbor Freight that would make those shine like new. $25, and that included the little box of sand.

I work for Autolite spark plugs. You have some oil burning going on, it also looks like there are pretty heavy carbon deposits on some as well. Its not really running as good as ou think it is. I would be happy to send you a set of our XP Iridium fine wire plugs to try out if you can send m the year, make and model to Jay.buckley@honeywell.com. The only catch is you have to post your results in the forum. I wish i could extend this offer to everyone here but she posted plug pics and so she gets the plugs.

Got the plugs in!
I finally got a chance to install the plugs Jay sent me (thanks again!). After driving about 100 miles I have already noticed a lot less smoke! I'll pull them and post pictures before the cruiser gets put away for the winter. So far I'm very impressed!

If you make another stack of plugs please number them. Typically a six cylinder will run a little richer (dark) on the inner/middle cylinders. So often 1 and 6 will be a bit more white (lean). That's a smokin deal on the plugs, just replaced with same on a newer Honda Pilot. They were $10 each. 100K mile plugs, the platinum takes along time to burn off. You want that kind of mileage when the V6 is put in sideways. The rear plugs are a Pain....

Fjforty, those pictured are numbered, 1,2,3 across the top from left to right and 4,5,6 across the bottom from left to right. What you said makes sense for my 6 plug. With someone else could chime in with more information but I know I need to get a compression test done.
I have had multiple manifold leaks on my #6 end. Maybe I have a little warp, but the ends of the manifolds are more prone to warpage and leaking. Typically only exhaust leaks for me, but a small air leak on that runner would lean out that plug, and not really show up as a vacum leak or stumble while driving.
What Jim mentioned is the norm I have seen, where 1 and 6 are naturally a little leaner than the others by the intake design.
What about your PCV, is it working, is the line plugged with crap? The valve cover vent? These can mess with iternal cranckcase pressure and push oil around too, may be some of the oil on the plugs. Check timing too, overall a good tuneup may be the key to better combustion.
