Got my O2 sensors changed. It took about 4 hours. Getting the sensors out wasn’t too bad but getting the clips undone sucked especially for the front one. There’s almost no room behind the engine so I had to make two tools out of some screwdrivers to get the connectors undone and get them back in place. Hopefully I never have to do this again…

An hour in this song played right as I picked up my phone and the screen was cracked. Overall 0/10 job but still better than working on a Volvo

Went to work on rear suspension. Control arms / panhard / swaybar off; bushings pressed out; correspondence with manafre abt 4 missing bushings for lower arms in their kit sent (lets hope they just own it and send me those); bushings i do have pressed in (after night in freezer) and the upper arms reinstalled; new springs installed; and cleaning, wire wheeling rust, and spot painting as I went. Made some homebrew atf / acetone penetrant to get the pretty crusty / rust seized bushings out of the arms. Not a bad couple / few of days of work, but will be frustrating to wait on the mail for delayed shocks, sway spacers and missing bushings.

Axles are the next project, but got rebuild kits on the way and upgrading the front axle shafts with the 30 spline RCVs.

Noice so you were able to press out the control arm bushings/panhard using that penetrant? I would love to do the same with some rear upper arms I have lying around but they are so seized I had given up. Didn't use much penetrant though...

I put some in a like stadium cup, put the end in and set it up so it wouldn't tip over and let it sit for like 30-40 minutes.

Went back in to press again and it worked farrr better.

I also have the Trail Tailor 80 series press tools kit. Glad to share these around. Was thinking about selling them on mud, but if folks think having a set around the club is a good idea, I'll hold on to them.

The good folks at manafre are sending me the missing bushings — despite the like 14 month lapse between my order and finding out I am missing a set.

Back’s buttoned up. Nearly there on the front. The big front control arm bushings ended up getting messy: had to drill out a bunch of rubber, press out the core and then cut into the sleeve, but it’s in the past (aside from having to vacuum my basement). Taking a little break for a beer and sandwich and then installing springs & shocks, finishing the panhard paint job & bushings, and torqueing everything to spec. Opted for drop down brackets for the control arms instead of offset bushings - seems like there are a mix of detractors / supporters here.

Stock or lifted?

Let me know if you need tires. Might have some 305's.

Saw your post - not sure what direction i’m going yet on tires, but thanks!

Front axle rebuild progressing! Cleaning up all the parts and doing s little painting. Decided to refresh rotors & pads. A bunch of threads to chase as I put it all back together.

I noticed your rear frame cross member is rusted. I have the one I cut off to install my new rear bumper if you want it. I also have the rear bumper parts if you can use them.

Thanks - I’ve got a cut sitting in a box in the ever so slowly shrinking stockpile of things to go on the truck. I think I have all the hardware too, but may come find you if I am wrong.
