Oil change and lube drive shaft. Boring yes but oh so satisfying
Looking at new gears for my HDJ81. Peak torque is 1800 to 2000 rpm's. I already have 10% underdrive and 3.11 low range gears in my xfer case. I crunched the numbers, I'm trying to decide between 4.56 and 4.88. Nitro is having awesome sale so pulling the trigger on this a bit earlier than I had planned. Let me know your thoughts

4:56 will get you close but 4:88 will overcome the larger and heavier tires. I would go 4:88 with just 35's, so yeah, 4:88. If you think it is too much pull the 10% back out of the t-case, but I think you will be fine.

Went to start my 40 today and all the magic smoke came out! Not sure what is going on but this sucks!

Then I checked to see why the radiator cap had pucked out instead of going into overflow. Simple drill bit and it was good.

Thanks for the offer. I hope to remove dash cluster and look behind it. Smoke came from there and then saw it under hood. Trying to get some stuff done on the 80 for the camping trip. i will get back on it soon.

Scored this on marketplace. When I was loading it, guy ask, " do you know what triple locked is?" I shrugged and said " might have something to do with that knob on dash?"

Quick check on it, front support pushed in, radiator touching fan, dizzy cap broken. I think I can pull back the support and maybe just replace the radiator and dizzy cap to get it running. Will need front grille and lights. Not sure what to do with it. front seats are trashed and need to get the cobb-webs out of it. I need to think on it....

Well I got it running today at lunch. sounds good and smooth! Needs radiator, trans cooler and a/c condensor plus front end stuff, headlamps, grill, etcBest beer around!
