My 98 100 has these doohicky things sticking out by the upper forward window frame on the drivers and pass windows. Are they to supress whistling? If so, they ain't working.

Anyone else have whistling probs with there ride?

Mine doesnt have them...very rarely i come across a 100 that has them, most i see around here dont have that little tab. Rip it off, i doubt it does anything important, lol.

My guess is they're for keeping the window on it's tracks when opening/closing while traveling at high speeds. Ever see your windows flutter? The rear windows don't need them because they are always in contact with both tracks.

Yup. Had them on my 80. I actually saw them beeing required when closing the window on the highway (Wifey driving - me cranking window).
Don't have them on the 100. Seems to be ok w/o.

Amazing, profound, and astute observations .... not only do they keep the window on track, but they whistle as a bonus I guess?....

Huh. I always thought they were for airflow/wind noise reduction. Learn something new every day.
