If the radio works for you there, right on. Hot radios are less efficient though, that's pretty much a given (and applies to powered electronics in general...heat is usually a bad thing). Whether or not you've ever noticed the reduced efficiency depends on your application. If you've been running it there for ten years, then it ain't broke (yet) so don't bother fixing it. My .02. I personally wouldn't choose to mount one there in my truck.

You know what works great in any temperature though? The "multi-quote" button. Just sayin'.

Yep - imagining, but I cant recall ever finding that it wasnt working properly.
Maybe GME makes better 2 ways than you guys get.
UHFs seem to either work - or not.
Next time I use it, Ill remember that Mud said I could have had it working even better for all these years and over 350000 km (220000 miles).
LOL
Cheers

Matt I'm glad you're satisfied.

Point taken, now I have to find another location. :-)
Where did you guys put the antenna through? Which grommet did you use?

Wil depends on the mount point.... I use a rear hatch mount on my 100 and feed the antenna lead into the wiring boot at the top near the roof. If you are going for hood mount there is a large pass through on the passenger side under the hood on the fire wall.

Ps I don't multiquote
