Search but did not find anything....

With the weight of the pig already on it...

thanks,

AL you failed to mention front or rear…. Anyway the length of an 80 spring will change with as little as 100# added weight and an 80 weight is more then a 60. Dont know what you are think about but here is a picture of a Land Cruiser FZJ80, Lexus 450, and an OME 850J (all front) with no weight to get you thinking.

Sorry, Sorry I wanted both front and rear measurements....thanks for posting the pics....def. got me thinking...

Al, i saw you over there poking around in the hardcore section. I think i may have an idea as to what your up to.........

By the way, if you want some stock springs, you can have mine.

Concrete...are you some kind of double agent?

haha, thanks man...I'll pay for shippping or whatever ya want....you got a PM...

thanks agian.

You going to try to pull some 3 or 4 link action?

Just measured my old stock springs.

Front- 18.75 in.
Rear- 18.5 in.

I know you wanted the length with them installed, but I thought this might help.

Concrete its top secret dude...

Trapper...thanks a million..that does help...

Off the top of whoever heads reading this..how much is the wieght of an 80?

Al-I got stockers if you want them too, I think I'm a little closer than Jungle.

I don't think stock 80 springs are tall enough nor stiff enough for what I *think* you want to do.

Sorry I don't know the curb weight off the top of my head.

I'll pass on the lowering kit since my truck already looks like this....

But, I know the 8o's weight is much more than a 60...so I think they might work...

If concrete falls thru, Ill be droppin ya a line Baily.....thanks a lot man...

Anyone got a number yet of how much the springs compress just sitting there with the weight of the truck on them...

thanks for all the help guys...

I checked on my truck and it is 14" from axle tube to frame(with out even fabbing mounts yet)....so if they compress 4-5inchs with just the weight of them truck on them I think they would be some good springs to use...that and the fact that they are land cruiser springs is always cool...

anybody...got 4 seconds to go measure that for me???

thanks...agian

Surfing Dude :),

IF you are planning on putting the 80's suspension under the 60 - Search the Pirate board / Peter Straub completed this mod years ago on his BJ60, and worked very well!

I'm in the process of installing the suspension under my FJ55, the TRUE "IRONPIG" (80's are NOT pigs)!

are too! you should see all the mud under my hood. Looks like a pig's been rolling around in the mud.

ok...maybe a rougher guess....will some one with lift springs go measure and just subtract whatever lift you put on...thhaannnkksss

Al, are you asking about the length of the springs out of the truck? I can measure the stock springs when i get home from work (real soon).

Concrete....the guy above said they were 18.5-.75 uncompressed....But, I was wondering how much they compressed while on the truck on flat ground....because, If they only compressed 4-5inches, I will keep the same lift size I have now....ta ta tanx you...

Okay,

I just braved the cold concrete to take some measurements,

Front spring compressed: 12 inches
Rear spring compressed: 11 inches

The Cruiser's bone stock with the third row seat installed.

Hope this helps..
