There's not a lot of rust. It might even qualify as "East Coast Mint".

the first sentence means that the second sentence is an appropriate description. it actually looks good even for western states. please do not part it out. it is definitely worthy of restoration.

I don't have any experience with Cruisers from the East Coast. I've just heard the saying thrown around a bit. The rust is the worst in the usual places, rear sill, rocker panels, and the tool box (that one is new to me).

You know John, I think that you and Dave are the only people I know with Cruiser parts in their bathroom.:)

The parts were in the 73 by the time I got them out it was dark outside. I bought them in the door off the bathroom just to take the picture and out they went again. I've been to Dave's and trust I don't have cruiser parts all over, if they were I doubt I would still be married. Since my wife found us another home with a second garage and RV parking Toyota parts aren't kept in view anymore. It seem to be a fair exchange I get to keep all my cruiser stuff in a garage instead of stored on the patio and backyard and she gets to have a patio and backyard.

So what year windshield are you looking for?

John

I think you have got everything now. Get the windshield channel sand blasted, check it with your finger to see if there are any sharp points that will tear the top. If you find any, grind and recheck. Bolt on. Put top on and Post Pics.. :)

It would go on a '71, windshield wipers up top, no outside vent below. I know that spans a few years.

No top. Everything not bolted to the Cruiser sat in a pile on the side of a house for last 10 years. I'm surprised that it is as complete as it is.

that tailgate looks to be in great shape.. killer find KingBee!!

It's not too bad, has a little rust, but overall still very solid.

I saw a tailgate just like that sell on eBay for $721:eek:

I watched that auction also. I couldn't believe it. It's one of the reasons I felt secure buying this truck even though I really didn't need it. I knew I could take what I wanted and still get most of my money back. Now I'm hesitant to seperate any part of it.

I also saw an OEM soft top truck in CA that was in slightly better condition go for around $5K. You may have seen it. There was a Tasmanian Devil on the soft door.

I did see that, but didn't pay as close attention as the tailgate auction. IIRC it was a '74. I think that one was a lot closer to being a driver than this one is. That and I have no top at all, just the bows. But thanks for putting 5K in my head.
