I am serioiusly considering a '97 or so T100 SR5 Ex Cab , 3.4, auto, 4x4 . I kinda started to like them after all these years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have decided to steer away from the 80 idea for now because I really still need a good old fashioned pick-m-up truck.

What sort of stuff is available for the T100's?
In my searches, I have noticed several comments re: the lack of aftermarket things. I know TRD made a SC for it, don't know if it is still avaliable or not......but don't think I want to spend that much $ on the motor right now.
I am interested in factory lockers/Aussie,Loc rite,etc , possibly a 2-4 inch lift someday.
Re gearing it sometime. Bumpers, sliders would be a nice touch.
I could make tham if I needed to.......quicker to buy them

Anyway, If anyone has any leads/suggestions/opinions for me I am grateful.:)

The best part will be a good excuse to sell the POS S10.
(Actually it has been a good truck for the last 2.5 years, no real complaints except it ain't a Yota)

Thanks, Steve

Hot topic so far!!!!!!

Did I say something wrong????

Maybe it is true and this is a sign, there is not much out there for the T100's:banana: ??????????

Mo - I don't think anyone has any inputs, because....well, T100's weren't really that popular. But curious, why not go for a Tacoma? The resale value would be a lot better, and you can find one with a TRD package + rear locker, stock. It's got the same 3.4L engine and you can get your hands on an SC fairly easily. Plus, TONS more aftermarket parts available for it.

Side note, you need to change the second line on your sig to "Hadda 62, 55, 40" just to make it all rhyme. :D

The T100 is an excellent truck. For a lot more info, check out the T100 section on yotatech. The short of it is that lifts are widely available (same basic parts as a 2nd gen pickup) superchargers are still available, aussie does not have a locker for it, nor can you retrofit the toyota e-locker on to the housing, but lockright and a couple others have auto lockers for it, along with ARB. Gearing is easy, IIRC, arb and tjm have front bumpers, but I am not sure of any others. Sliders might need to be custom, but you can get the slider itself from trailgear for cheap, and then fab your own mounts.

One thing I forgot. I would replace the flex plate as PM. They seem to crack/break quite a bit, and if it happens at speed, it can tear up your tranny. One reason not to get an autobox....

Thanks for the info KliersLC, I like the T100 because it is a bit bigger than a Tacoma, but smaller and cheaper than a Tundra..............
I don't want to go too wild on it, just have the option of suspension, lockers, sliders to ad over time. It will be a DD 90% of the time anyway:crybaby::lol:

I was just talking to Total Chaos. They have a FE suspension kit that will have 12 in. of travel. It consists of Upper and lower control arms, coil overs and custom axle shafts. It will also make the FE 3" wider per side. They rec. Deaver 62" rear springs also.
We are talking about 4K+ for this before regearing, rims, tires, and a trick Ford 9" RE !!!!!

That sounds like a nice trick poney, but that is more $$ than I am good for at this point. Dear Wife wants new carpet and vinyl flooring.
:crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:

Thanks again for your input:cheers:

I have considered a Tacoma, but like the T100 in spite of itself due to it's mid size and being cheaper than a Tundra

I put "Hadda40,55,62" in that order because that was the order in which I had them !!! But I like your idea too......Thanks

Are you referring to the frywheel flexplate???

How can you tell if you have the beginnings of a problem?

I prefer the auto trans......just my lazy butt opinion.

Thanks for the tip. You are the first to mention it that I have seen.

would like some bolt on sliders and a winch bumper....

Thanks, jomentum.

Great links. Good info. Looks like I can anticipate a R&R of the flexplate as a PM if it is an auto. THEN I can put the goodies on it .
Would love to do the SAS trick too.

Good luck finding a t100 with less the 175k on it. There weren't that many made, and most people that have them refuse to get off of them until close to the 200k mark. I've seen 4 up for sale locally in the past 6 months, and the lowest mileage was over 180k, the highest was just under 300k.

Even a high mileage truck will have a lot of life left in it, but you can find lower mileage tacos and tundras for only a little more money.
