What about rock chip guard instead of bedliner?

I am getting to the point of my restore where this decision has to be made, what to do with the under and inside the tub?

I have PORed the under side, of a new half tub and existing 1/2 front, bed lining under seems like overkill and I personally like to look of the painted under side, since I will have a 4" lift and show plenty of it. So I am considering using the 3M paintable rock guard under and painting to match.

I know the bedliner can be tinted to match now days but with the POR already done and not wanting to hurt resale I was thinking this may be a way to go?

I have seen it done somewhere but not sure where, anyone ever done this any pictures? Anyone ever done this on the interior of the tub as well?

Any help info or thoughts would be great! RB

My truck has epoxy with chassis black sprayed over it on the underside. It was done by the PO.

It adheres well (bedliner does not), and looks good. Pretty tough.

Bedliner is for truck beds, not undersides.

I was thinking about using a clear chip guard on the insides of my front and rear fenders. Since I've repainted my 40 I don't want to cover up the color with bed liner but want to keep the paint from chipping off. I saw a rattle can clear chip guard at the autobody supply and figured I would buy a can next time I was in and shoot it on something to see how it was.

My work van has it on the bottom 6 inches and it works great.

That is the stuff I am thinking of as well, I was thinking before they paint it, but now that you mention it, It is clear and goes over the paint. This may be the route I go, was hoping someone had done it before me and had picks, but maybe not?
