I am a bit perplexed with my 2000 LC. I have noticed some dampness and wetness on both my driver side and passenger side footwell carpet. The dampness seems to be directly in the middle of the footwell and doesn't seem to come from anywhere else. There may be a little coming from close to the doors, especially the driver side, but not enough for a definitive decision.

At first I thought it was from the common sunroof drain issue. Mine does not work since the cables are rusted but I was able to remove the glass and snake the front two drains with weed whacker cable until it stopped.

However it has not rained for a few days and the problem persists. I thought it could be the AC and still believe it to be but I'm not sure what would cause both carpets to be wet. I took both mats up and left it that way over night to dry out. I put the mat back down on the driver side and it was extremely damp after going to work and back and running the AC but passenger was super dry. I have noticed very small drip from the condenser in the passenger side but it's very rare to see it happen if it all. Not sure what is causing this and hopefully someone has had this same issue.

usually the heat exchanger in the ductwork. In 60/62, there is a small drain out thru firewall, it gets plugged and you get drips. Run a search on cleaning heater blower housing, and you should get a visual on it

Your A/C evaporator drian will cause a leak on both sides of your carpet if plugged

use a metal coat hanger with the end folded over as a pipe cleaner of sorts , dont ream too hard

see what comes out

bug and insects love to make there nests in there

I ran some weed eater wire into the drain hole coming out of the fire wall but only made it about 8"- 10" before it wouldn't go any further. It does drip out of there just fine (since it has rusted the area underneath it and I haven't added the tubing to extend it). Is there something else I should be doing?

It also seems like (and I remember reading a previous post) about water pooling in the low parts of the footwell. I have noticed that's where the water likes to collect. Some days it does it and others it does not.

If you can tell, that's where most of the water/ condensation usually is, directly in the middle. It doesn't seem to come from any other place around the carpet. This was from idiling with the a/c running in warm humid weather. No rain and no wetness on the passenger side.

I am currently experiencing the same issue. It isn't rain specific and only on the driver side. I am lost.

Weird...I had it on the driver side and noticed it was the windshield leaking. I swapped the windshield, but now it’s happening on passenger side. FML.

A/C drips but I can’t explain why it pools under my rubber floor mats.

Outside chance the sunroof drain ducts are plugged and it can run down the A pillar and end up down on the floor.

I checked the windshield, the drains, the heater core, etc. Finally found it. I have some rust forming on the floor pan right where it goes 90 degrees at the front of the driver seat. I guess water was splashing up from the back side of the carpet. I sprayed the whole area with rust inhibitor, covered the outside with a figerglass patch, and for good measure covered the whole area with flex seal  (why not?). I don't see any other rust on the truck (florida all its life before me, and now in NOLA for the past 4 years). Also, check the rubber stopper/drain on the floor pan outboard driver side....close to the middle of the door. That was missing so I assume this was where water has been entering for years, and why the water settled inside and rusted out the back of the pan.

Goodluck friends!
